Good morning, Fortitude Valley 🤍 We have officially arrived and oh my gosh… wow, wow, wow. We are honestly lost for words. Seeing our beautiful community show up, support and hearing how much everyone loves this space means so much to us. Thank you to our beautiful community for the warm welcome, and to our incredible team for bringing this vision to life. An absolute dream come true. @kiki_keysers xxx #KIVARI by @kiki_keysers
16 stores. I still can’t quite believe I’m typing that. 🤍 But this week, as we open our newest store, I keep thinking about the version of me who had no idea any of this would happen. The woman working a full-time job and running KIVARI on the side. The woman who quit, moved to Sydney, and sold absolutely nothing at her first market stall. The woman who got scammed in Bali and had to rebuild from scratch. The woman who signed a lease she could barely afford and painted the walls herself. The woman who watched production stop overnight when COVID hit. The woman who burnt out on a sourcing trip in China and genuinely wondered if she should walk away. Every one of those moments felt like the end at the time. Looking back, every one of them taught me something I needed to get here. So if you’re in the hard part right now, keep going. The failures aren’t the detour. They’re the road. ✨ Thank you to every single person who has walked into a KIVARI store, shopped online, or cheered us on from day one. Store 16 is yours too. Come say hi this week 🤍 #KIVARI #WomenInBusiness #SmallBusinessJourney #FemaleFounder #AustralianFashion by @kiki_keysers
It’s funny how every big brand has a version of this story. A beginning that didn’t look like much. A season where nobody really understood the vision yet. Mine started with $200, packing orders from my bedroom and hoping I was making the right decision. Looking back now, I’m really glad I didn’t convince myself to stop too early 🤎 Follow me for more @kiki_keysers #founderstory by @kiki_keysers
Somewhere along the way, we were made to believe that being an ambitious woman meant having to sacrifice something else. But I’ve never believed that building a successful business and being a present mum have to be mutually exclusive. Does it mean every day is perfectly balanced? Absolutely not. But it's about creating a life where you don't have to choose between the things you love. You’re allowed to be ambitious, build something extraordinary and still prioritise the moments that matter most. 🤍 A reminder to every woman who needs to hear it: both is possible by @kiki_keysers
The right people will encourage your ambition, celebrate your wins and remind you what's possible when you start doubting yourself. Surround yourself with people who inspire you to dream bigger, take risks and go after the life you want. 🤍 Tag someone who always cheers you on.✨ by @kiki_keysers
In 2011 I spent my last $200 on 30 leather wallets in Bali. I had no business plan, no mentor and no idea what I was doing. My first market made zero sales. In 2015 I got scammed by a manufacturer and lost almost everything. I painted my first store in Freshwater by hand because I couldn’t afford anyone else to do it. Fifteen years later, I’ve just opened store number 16. I didn’t get here because I had it all figured out. I got here because I kept getting back up. Every mistake taught me something, and these are the lessons I wish someone had told me at the start. Save this for the days you need it, and send it to a founder who’s in the thick of it right now 🤍 Which one hit home for you? Tell me below 👇 by @kiki_keysers
Can we please normalise celebrating other people’s success? 🤍 There’s enough room for all of us to succeed. Someone else winning doesn’t mean there’s less opportunity for you. Australia has so many incredible founders building incredible things. Imagine how much further we could all go if we spent more time lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. Success should be celebrated, not criticised. Tag a business owner in the comments who you want to see WIN! 👇🏼 by @kiki_keysers
Sometimes the biggest shift happens when you stop asking yourself what could go wrong and start imagining what could go right. Back yourself, trust the process and give yourself the chance to find out what’s possible. 🤍 A little reminder that perspective changes everything. by @kiki_keysers
If I could give the younger version of myself one piece of advice, it would be to stop worrying so much about how it all works out. When I started KIVARI with just $200, I had no idea what the next 15 years would look like. There were setbacks I never saw coming, decisions I wasn’t ready to make and plenty of moments where I wondered if I was doing the right thing. But looking back, I’ve realised a few things. Trust yourself, even when others don’t understand your vision. Surround yourself with people who believe in what you’re building. Don’t be afraid to change direction when something isn’t working. And most importantly, don’t let a difficult chapter convince you that the story is over. You don’t need to see the whole path to take the next step. To anyone in the messy middle of building something right now, keep going. You might be closer to a turning point than you realise. 🤍 by @kiki_keysers
I’ve never done anything like this before, and I am SO excited to finally share it with you! 🤍 On 3rd December, I’m inviting just 10 founders inside KIVARI Head office for an experience I’ve been dreaming of bringing to life. A full day behind the scenes of a multiple eight-figure business. The real operations, the numbers, the decisions and the systems that have helped us scale. You’ll get to work directly with me across two intimate strategy sessions, ask the questions you’ve been sitting on and get clarity on what’s next for your business. And then? We’re taking things to Sydney Harbour for an afternoon aboard a private yacht, surrounded by an incredible group of ambitious women. 🥂 This is something I’ve never offered before, and with only 10 places available, I want to make sure every founder walks away with something genuinely valuable. Comment "BOAT" below and I’ll send you all the details. ✨🤍 by @kiki_keysers
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt in business is to be selective about whose advice you listen to. Everyone will have an opinion on what you should or shouldn’t do. But not everyone understands what it takes to build something from the ground up. Surround yourself with people who challenge you to think bigger, not people who make you question what’s possible. And remember, you don’t have to take criticism from someone you wouldn’t go to for advice. 🤍 by @kiki_keysers
