Did you ever listen to someone promising an „amazing” paint color, only to realize you absolutely HATE it after it hits your walls? 🫠👇

Choosing a paint color for your interior can feel incredibly overwhelming. It’s so easy to get lost in the myriad of paper swatches at the store, or fall into an endless scroll through Pinterest inspirations.

But here’s the mistake most people make: picking a color based on how it looks in the store and not considering unique space features which will greatly impact the final outcome.

As interior design studio in Copenhagen, we see it all the time. Paint is pure physics. The exact same shade can look like a cozy warm beige in morning sunlight, and turn into a cold, muddy grey by 4 PM depending on your room’s orientation. If you don’t factor in natural light influences, undertones, and color psychology, you risk a very expensive mistake.

Where should you even begin? How do you find that one perfect shade without the trial, error, and wasted money? 🎨 Well, we’ve got you covered.

Next week, we are dropping our ultimate, step-by-step Perfect Paint Guide to help you choose the right colors for your space with 100% confidence.

In global finance, a 1% error can cost millions. In your home, a 1% error in measurement can ruin a 6-month timeline.

I’m Dorota and I am not your typical Designer.

For over a decade I managed global business processes for giants like Maersk and FLSmidth. I worked in the high-stakes world of Publicis Groupe, where creative projects move at the speed of light.

I’m used to aggressive timelines, ambitious scopes, and the “unreasonable expectations” that come with multi-million-dollar budgets.

Why does this matter for your home or business in Copenhagen?

Because a renovation is a high-stakes project. Most people enter it with a dream, but no plan for the chaos. I’m here to change that.

I don’t just see the aesthetic - I see the architecture of the process:

✅ You see a beige tile. I see its technical adhesion and the safety of your child’s first steps.
✅ You see a green wall. I see light-direction physics and how the Danish winter sun will shift that color.
✅ You see a dining room. I see flow-of-travel diagrams to ensure your space actually supports your morning routine.

I created the Kiki Precision Path™ because your home renovation deserves the same level of excellence as a global corporation. I don’t believe in “creative mess.” I believe in bulletproof scopes of work and protecting your budget from the 30% “bleed” that mediocre planning creates.

I hire the best design talent, but I lead the process. You bring the dream - I bring the plan to make it real. 🥂

Do you value your time, your money, and above all, your peace of mind?

Comment READY below, and let’s discuss how we can build your vision with precision.

From scattered inspiration to a curated sanctuary🖋️

High-end design is about more than beautiful furniture; it’s about solving the challenges you didn’t even know were there - like a wardrobe placement that’s a few centimeters too tight or a palette that feels “busy” rather than “balanced”.

When Cheryl first came to us, she had a gallery full of inspiration but was facing the “noise” of too many choices. We leverage a bespoke, IT-driven process to filter that chaos, providing a clear structure that removes decision fatigue so we can focus on the details that truly matter.

The result? A dated space transformed into a warm, inviting sanctuary that finally feels like home ♥️

Swipe to read the process in Cheryl’s own words, and see the transformation at the end.

Thank you for the trust, Cheryl. It was a joy to bring this vision to life ✨

When you look at an existing layout every single day, it’s almost impossible to picture it working any other way.

For Geri, transforming this kitchen meant looking beyond standard solutions: turning an awkward footprint into an intuitive cooking flow, utilizing 3.2m high ceilings for smart integrated storage, and using color drenching - deep Prussian blue against soft muted slate - to bring warmth into dim Copenhagen daylight.

As Geri put it, the greatest value wasn’t just a new design, but helping them see their space through an entirely new lens.

Swipe through to read Geri’s review and see the final concept at the end.

Thank you for trusting our studio, Geri! It was a joy to bring this vision to life ✨

Some projects are so good, we need to show them to you even before their execution… and this is one of them.

We’re excited to share the design concept for our latest kitchen transformation: a modern, urban traditional, and functional heart-of-the-home built for effortless family routines, shared meals, and much-needed storage.

For this project, the goal was to take full advantage of high 3.2 m ceilings and the unique floor plan shape, and turn the cold, white space and uncoordinated finishes into an immersive, inviting and fully functional kitchen. Our design strategy centers around a well-thought-out color palette, smart ergonomic layout, and precise zoning.

The Design Highlights:

- Optimized Work Triangle: Positioning the sink, countertop, oven, and refrigerator in a tight layout ensures a smooth, comfortable cooking flow with clear circulation pathways.

- Vertical Storage & Tall Units: Capitalizing on the 3.2 m ceiling height with full-height cabinetry, pull-out pantries, cargo cabinets, and integrated appliances.

- Color Balance: Muted light blue-grey and deep Prussian blue tones on the walls, cabinetry and ceiling blur room boundaries to create a cozy atmosphere, while toning down the reddish-brown wood of existing cabinetry sides.

- Layered Lighting: A multi-layered lighting setup, including pendant lights over the dining area, track lights, task lights, and LED strips, warm up dim evenings in this east-facing kitchen.

Swipe through the carousel to see how our interior design studio reimagined this kitchen into a balanced, high-performance family sanctuary.

You aren’t cookie-cutter, and your home shouldn’t be either.

A major red flag in the interior design industry is the “signature template” - when a studio applies the exact same aesthetic, layout, and color palette to every single project, regardless of who lives there.

At Kiki Design, we take a deeply custom approach. We analyze how you live, how light hits your space, and what story you want your home to tell. We don’t copy-paste trends - we curate long-lasting, highly personal interiors tailored 100% to you.

Ready for a space that is authentically yours? DM us to start the conversation! ✨

Before the build, comes the vision.

Some projects are just too good to wait for the final renovation. Here’s a sneak peek at one of our latest concepts: a modern, urban-traditional kitchen designed around family routines, shared meals, seamless functionality, and ergonomics.

What we fixed:
- The Layout & Flow: We turned a unique floor plan into a smooth, highly ergonomic work triangle between the oven, countertop, sink, and fridge to make daily cooking effortless.
- The High Ceilings: We capitalized on the 3.2 m height with modern tall cabinetry, pull-out pantries, cargo cabinets, and space for in-built solutions to maximize the storage space.
- The Atmosphere: We replaced cold white walls and uncoordinated finishes with an immersive, color-drenched palette of soft blue-grey, deep Prussian blue, steel accents, and natural wood that beautifully balance the existing reddish-brown cabinetry elements.
- The Lighting: We designed a multi-layered scheme combining pendant lamps, sleek track lights, and task lighting - to bring warmth to dim Copenhagen evenings.

These are not just pretty mood boards - when our interior design studio takes on a project, we consider light physics, ergonomics, ease of use, visual impact, color psychology and so much more.

You spent time, money, and effort to finalize the design - approving tile patterns, fixture placements, color palettes, and so much more.

Then you walk through the renovation site and notice not everything went according to plan. The backsplash was laid offset, the outlet was installed in the wrong place, and that beige wall was supposed to stay white.

Contractors focus on speed and completion, but not always on the finer details. Without active design oversight, small assumptions may lead to permanent mistakes.

In Part 3 of our Costly Mistakes series, we’re analyzing why design intent gets lost during construction and how our Visual Site Audits keep your renovation on track.

New here? Hi! We are a Copenhagen based interior design studio that helps you avoid these costly mistakes and go through your renovation smoothly.

Renovation costs have a tendency to pile up, if you’re not careful. The last thing you should worry about is where your money is actually going and how much more you will have to spend.

At Kiki Design, we hold our business ethics to the same high standard as our design concepts. That means total transparency around costs, proactive timeline management, and realistic budget allocation right from day one.

We respect your investment as if it were our own. No surprises - just professional, stress-free execution.

Check out this stunning color combination for interiors: Burgundy & Light Blue.

The unusual pairing of light blue and deep burgundy creates a modern, striking contrast.

While burgundy introduces a sense of luxurious heritage and stability, light blue makes the space feel airy and fresh.

Would you love to have a library in this vibe? Go with burgundy as your primary color for coziness and grounding feeling and add light blue accents.

Thinking about a bedroom? Use soft blue for that airy, calm atmosphere and add touches of burgundy for interest and “emotion”.

Is there a color combo you’d like to see next? Comment and let us know! ;)
