Found some BTS of my stunt rehearsals for #TheOldGuard2. I’m super proud of myself for nailing these stunts in the movie. (I don’t have any BTS of my big jump from the balcony unfortunately 😭) Grateful to our incredible stunt team @alphastuntteambulgaria_ lead by @dido_judo and my amazing stunt double @nailahjohnson, who always made me feel safe and encouraged me to be confident in my skills and push through any doubt or fear to do as many of my own stunts as I could. Couldn’t do it all, but I’m proud of what I accomplished. Hoping I get to do more action roles and continue challenging myself in this way. by @kikilayne

“The Old Guard 2 was cool because I got to wear my locs out for the first time. That was so meaningful, as a Black woman, to wear a style that the industry has not always made kind space for. It’s a style that I think a lot of us feel we’ve been tricked into thinking: “Oh, it’s not professional, it’s not nice, it’s not pretty or beautiful.” To be leading an action film while having natural locs, I think that’s probably been my favorite hair moment so far in a film.”
