Competed at one of the toughest events in all of jiu jitsu for @adcc_official nationals yesterday. Came up just short of medaling but I tested myself against some of the best competitors in the nation in the girls and boys brackets. My contact fell out early in this match after my opponent raked my eye. My eye was irritated, vision blurred and blind but I did my best to stay focused and over come. Thankful for my team @dethronefresno for all the support and guidance, coach @senseimikemoreno @alejandro_avalos135 @pjreynabjj @jacklynn_nicole @iam_thevalley and all my training partners and friends thank you all for the hours and hours of time invested in my journey. Special thank you to Coach @nickymoon559 for ALWAYS being in my corner and by my side no matter how much attitude I have! You are like a second dad to me and I love you! To my actual dad you’re ok…😝 thank you to @sangerjiujitsu for allowing me to cross train and embracing me with open arms! Sanger is small but we stick together!!! Everyone following my journey and supporting THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! We’re just getting started, the goal isn’t to be the best right now it’s to be the best of all time!!!! #jiujitsu #smashjitsu #jiujitsugirl #grappling #futurechamp #sixbladesjiujitsu #hardwork #grind by @killer_penguin559

Coach @atrsrep always says Hard Work Works!!!!! 1% better everyday, it’s Penguin vs Penguin!!! Losing doesn’t scare me, stepping on the mats/cage knowing I didn’t prepare the best I could is what scares me!!!! @kidsofbjj #jiujitsu #smashjitsu #grappling #hardwork #workout by @killer_penguin559

Was able to finish tied for 1st out of all the kids who competed at @the_grind_classic went 4-0 with 4 subs and competed in the boys yellow belt bracket along with my normal bracket! Thank you to @pjreynabjj for being in my corner and guiding me every step of the way. @dethronefresno only brought 4 kid competitors but we all medaled!!!! With all the different submissions and various attack options in jiu jitsu it’s easy to want to try and hit them all but I’m not sure any sub will steal my love for the classic armbar!!!! What’s your favorite go to sub and why??? @dethronefresno @senseimikemoreno @alejandro_avalos135 @pjreynabjj @eren_eats__ @the_grind_classic @kidsofbjj by @killer_penguin559

Everyone knows penguins are cold as ice!!! Went up in weight to test myself and although I didn’t make the podium I’m happy with my effort. I fought hard, never gave up, only lost on points and made it to the medal round. Never be afraid to test yourself doing what you love! We’re always learning… @dethronefresno @senseimikemoreno @alejandro_avalos135 @pjreynabjj @iam_thevalley @academywestinsurance @chingondevotion @tmevisionz @cocoshootzsports @nichole_massages @kidsofbjj #jiujitsu #smashjitsu #grappling #challenge #futurechamp by @killer_penguin559

The anticipation and nerves never leave they are channeled and used!!!! The cage/mats is my happy place, it’s not about winning or losing it’s about the courage to step in there and the chance to test myself!!! We win or we learn, we live and we grow!!! #jiujitsu #grappling #jiujitsugirl #nervous #excitement by @killer_penguin559

How do you warm up for a match….

Me:

1. Headphones in get lose and in my zone

2. Technique and game plan with my coach

3. Call out the biggest guy in the warm up room🤣
