Drop your name below πŸ‘‡ if you're cool being tagged for giveaways and stuff! I never know who to tag, and hope I'm not annoying the people I do tag 🫣, so I thought it might be time to make a list. Yeah, I know, it's been a while. 🫣 I'm going to do my best to post frequently again, and I'm starting off with last month's book haul. It was my birthday, and I'm in a fun exchange group where everyone gets one month to receive books (we gift everyone else all the other months). I've been in this group for at least 3 (4?) years, and it's always a fun way to celebrate. Thanks so much to @pages_and_poppies for running such a fab group! I also got a book in a Christmas In July swap from my sweet friend Ovi - thanks, love! ❔Have you met any Bookstagram friends IRL? I've met up with @creative.wilson a few times, and she was so great to send me a card and some bookish things. Thanks, Dawn! 🫢 The last slide was an unexpected surprise - a bonus of being a team member of @authorkatsingleton .Thank you so much for the cute stickers, bookmarks, and note! 😍 #readindie #bookstagram #kilngirlreads #bookhaul by @kilngirlreads
❔ What series have you been following since the beginning? β€οΈπŸ’”β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή I've been following this series from the start, and this one was just as captivating as the others. So full of emotion and character growth, stuffed with Shakespeare and Art Theory, this story had me captivated from start to finish! If you asked me to choose a favorite so far, I'd be hard pressed to make a decision... But based on the sneak peek for the next in the series, I suspect it may end up being that one πŸ˜‰ Thank you, thank you, thank you, to @baileyseabornauthor and @bookedwiththeemilys for having me on the ARC team and for my gifted copy. I am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts. β€οΈπŸ’”β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή πŸ’ This is one of them, and I feel so lucky to have happened upon it! πŸ₯° #newrelease #arcreader #bookedwiththeemilys #baileyseaborn #twowrongsdontmakeaplaywright by @kilngirlreads
❔QOTD: Have you ever bought a bedazzled book, or even done the bedazzling yourself? Would you want to learn how? πŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽπŸ’Ž I got an ARC of this book, then ended up meeting the author at @sportsromancecon last weekend! Lucky for me, I snagged the last ✨bedazzled✨ copy. Then, in addition to getting it signed, it was also embossed with Braille in the heart! So fun to meet and chat with you, @melissa_whitneyauthor πŸ’• πŸ“šπŸ‘ŸπŸ₯ˆ Book Review πŸ₯ˆπŸ‘ŸπŸ“š I loved this book for many reasons, not the least of which is that, with the disability representation in the story, I learned so many new things. That's one of my favorite things about inclusive stories - along with getting a wonderfully steamy romance, I'm also being educated on how others move through and experience this world. As someone who ran 10ks and a 1/2 marathon in the past, I'm sure I probably saw blind runners and their guides, but didn't realize that was what I was seeing. It was so interesting to read about race training from a different kind of perspective. So many things that sighted runners take for granted work differently for the blind, from the use of guide runners and the trust it requires to the tethers used to keep them connected during the run. Also, this was a sweet and empowering story about a woman learning that not only is she stronger than she thought, she deserves more than she'd been getting and has every right to demand more from the people who cross her path. Of course, there's also the brother's best friend and forced proximity aspects, along with a fab girl gang and fun banter. Thank you so much to the author and to Happily Booked PR for my gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. πŸ“šπŸ‘ŸπŸ₯ˆπŸ‘ŸπŸ“š πŸ’ I just learned how last weekend! It's a fun, kinda zen activity, great to do as you listen to your audiobooks! #sportsromancebooks #disabilityrepresentation #melissawhitneyauthor #happilybookedpr #therecoveryrun by @kilngirlreads
❔Have you ever done anything like this? I got to be a bookplate fairy this week! πŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ§šπŸ»β€β™€οΈ @authorkatsingleton has a new release in stores πŸŽ‰ so I went to my local @target to surprise some readers! NGL, I was a little nervous, so I kept creeping up the aisle as I stickered... I didn't want to get in trouble πŸ™ˆ I am having so much fun imagining people's faces as they sit down to read and discover the surprise πŸ˜€ And, obviously, I had to grab my own copy. Thanks, Kat, for letting me join in on the fun ❀️ *Local friends, they're in the book section of Target in Maple Grove, if you're looking! πŸ’ This is one of the things I love about Bookstagram - the chance to help authors promote while having fun 😊 #bookplatefairy #katsingleton #brightlightsandsummernights #nowavailable #targetmaplegrove by @kilngirlreads
β™ŸοΈBad Bishop by @authorljshen β™ŸοΈCongrats on your new release, LJ Shen! Thank you so much for the lovely PR package I received πŸ–€ β™ŸοΈ The last photo is from today's mail - my pre-ordered and signed copy with pretty edges! β™ŸοΈMy review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Every time I read an LJ Shen book, I really think it can't be topped. After reading Bad Bishop, I absolutely still feel this way. It makes this author one of my auto-buys, no question. Going into this I didn't really know what to expect, apart from it being a romance with a dark killer and a mafia princess. And, here's the thing: I love me a good villain origin story. There's something so humanizing about it, something that makes the villain's purpose clearer and easier to understand. It very much destroys the us vs. them mentality of good guy/bad guy stories. Tiernan's background is, frankly, horrifying, and makes it easy to see why he shut down any and all feeling. Lila's background is sad and isolated, and she is quite unhappy to have been married off by her father for the purpose of uniting the Irish and the Italians. Part of the reason for her isolation is that her mother was trying to prevent her getting forced into an arranged marriage, and as such, has made everyone around them think that Lila is developmentally challenged. In reality, she's Deaf, but highly intelligent, clever, and creative. Should she keep these facts hidden from her husband, or should she let him know who she really is? There's so much more to the story; twists and betrayals, justified anger and lots of death, and I truly didn't see the final surprise coming. I didn't even slightly suspect it. Typically when I read, my mind is working in the background, trying to figure out who the enemy is, who did it, and what happened, but this book had me so invested and rapt that I wasn't trying to do anything but turn the next page and devour the story. I don't know what LJ has coming next, but you know I'm gonna buy it! Thank you to the author for my gifted ARC! I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. β™ŸοΈ ❔Do you play chess? If so, do you play well? If not, is it something you'd like to learn? πŸ’ I used to know how, but I'm pretty rusty... by @kilngirlreads

πŸ’˜ Valentine Nook by @lulumoorebooks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review: Valentine Nook does not disappoint! It sounds like a delightful place to live, and makes me want to go to the English countryside. If I could step into the story, I'd love to poke around the shops in the village and admire the landscape. The characters are loveable (for the most part), and this might have the best meet cute I've ever read. Naked guy under a waterfall? Say less. It's a grumpy vs sunshine, small town, different worlds, spicy romance, with some wonderful animal sidekicks, a bit of psychic meddling, and some wicked dirty talk. Best of all, it ties into the New York Lions series, as Holiday is Tanner's twin, so we get to see some familiar faces, and if you read last year's Once Upon A Christmas Tree, there is reference to that, as well. From weighing in on bunting for the festival to learning how to make pastries to stomping divots on the polo grounds, Holiday experiences so many different things during her time in Valentine Nook. Lando balances being a Duke with family time, getting to know Holiday, and finding his happiness. But their worlds are so different - can they make it work, or will it only be a fond Summer memory? I laughed out loud, kicked my feet, swooned, and cried - it felt like I went through all the emotions with this one. At this point, if Lulu writes it, I'm going to read it. I am all in for Alex and Haven's story next! Thank you to the author for having me on your content team, and thank you to Valentine PR as well, for my gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜ ❔ What's the best/your favorite animal sidekick in a book? πŸ’ I always loved Koko and Yum Yum, the cat detectives (Q's pets) in Lillian Jackson Braun's Cat Who... series. I think they were the first pet sidekicks I read that were more than just set dressing. #newrelease #nowavailable #valentinenook #valentinenookchronicles #lulumoore #smalltownromance #differentworlds #grumpysunshine #waterfallmeetcute #arcreview #arcreader #bookstagram #bookcollage #moodboard #spicyromance #readindie #supportindieauthors by @kilngirlreads
Who's Your Daddy by @authorbrittaneenicole and @jennibarabooks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review: There's something so wonderful about a good workplace, enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance. Take this one: Cal and Lola have worked together for years. He lives to get a ride out of her, and she's sure she has him all figured out. He acts like a shallow, commitment phobic man child, so that's what he is. Until he isn't... Between being forced to move to New Jersey (the horror!), a child suddenly appearing, and managing the work of three lawyers on her own, Lola is at her wits end. Cal, on the other hand, is suddenly thrown into the deep end of parenting and responsibility. The beauty comes in when Cal and Lola start breaking down walls, and she begins to realize that he is more than just the immature brat she's always assumed him to be. It's heartwarming watching them grow together, and seeing her realize all that Csl has always quietly done in the background. There are some seriously spicy moments, and times where I genuinely teared up, so believe me when I say that my emotions were all over with this one. In the end, I loved what Cal and Lola became, and I can't wait to see what is in store for Sully and Sloane. Madame E and her insights, Sebastian the ghostly biker, little Murphy, and the pets all have me desperate to continue the Dadcom journey. Thank you to the authors and to @theauthor.agency for my gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. 🐈🐟🌱🐟🐈 ❔ What's the best/most memorable meet cute you've read? - or - finish the sentence: I took a holiday to _________ and fell in love with ________. πŸ’ This one was definitely memorable! The Spite Date by @pippa.grant ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review: This wasn't my favorite Pippa Grant story, but it was really cute. I loved the twins and their antics, Bea's brothers, and all of the bus shenanigans. The narration was done well; I always love a British accent, and it felt like the actor had no trouble switching between that and an American accent for the rest of the guys. I appreciated how Simon was always in Bea's corner, finding ways to promote her business and sing her praises. He really supported her and helped her figure out who she was. After years of raising her younger brothers, she was finally free to live life for herself, and Simon and his boys showed up at the perfect time to turn it all upside down. If you like a story that has a kick a$$ best friend, hilarious banter, and an epic grand gesture, read this. And if you're a sucker for a Brit, make sure to get the audio! Thank you to the author and to The Smuthood for my gifted ARC and ALC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. β€οΈπŸ”β€οΈπŸ”β€οΈ ❔ Have you ever been to a drive in movie? At The Edge of Surrender by @aljacksonauthor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review: Yet another Moonlit Ridge story that captivated me and stole my heart. I think this might be my favorite one so far... From Kane and Emery's instant connection, to sweet little Maci, to the way the family took Emery and Maci in without question, I loved every minute of this story. The twists, the danger, and the way past and present are all woven together made this an intense and un-put-down-able read. The things that are revealed along the way were at times heartbreaking, and at others, devastating, and yet, somehow, everything comes together in such a satisfying way by the end. It all leaves me desperate to know what will happen next. I am definitely looking forward to Theo's story. Thank you to the author and to @valentine_pr_ for my gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. 🏍️🌹🏍️🌹🏍️ ❔ What's the best book-to-movie adaptation? Or book-to-tv-series adaptation? πŸ’ I think the best book-to-movie that I've seen is Stardust by Neil Gaiman. Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert DeNiro starred, and they were all perfect! 🌹🏍️🌹🏍️🌹 #nowavailable #attheedgeofsurrender #aljacksonauthor #valentine_pr_ #valentinepr #arcreader #arcreview #moonlitridge #romanticsuspense #sovereignsanctum #spicyromance #singleparent #morallygreymmc #troubledpast #bookstagram #bookmail #giftedarc #readindie #supportindieauthors #kilngirlreads by @kilngirlreads
Drawn to You by @kassiemakauthor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review: I really enjoyed this read, though I expected it to be a bit darker based on the way it started. It ended up being a pretty sweet story, with a boy obsessed and a girl trying to find her voice, as is the case with many college/new adult romance stories. One of the things I really loved was how supportive Penn was about everything that was important to Olivia. His honest interest in her and the things that mattered to her was everything. There was some angst, some tension, lots of spice, and moments of growth. I'd definitely read it again if I wanted something sweet and comforting with a satisfying HEA. Thank you to the author and to Happily Booked PR for my gifted ARC. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review. 🎸🧢🎸🧢🎸 ❔If your significant other was adamantly anti-tattoos, and you wanted to get some (more), what would you say to try to convince them? πŸ’ True story: this is my life.
