Negotiations Film Suite — when I came to myself

Final film of the suite of 7. Negotiations is a project about error, glitches, and the transactional nature of energy expenditure.

It questions the codes and scripts we write into ourselves and whether those directives are still sound. It explores this manual reset process we perform many times to program new directives.

Within this project, I am curious about the body and how it processes information and stimuli as a form of technology. How kindred is our nature to that which we’ve created? How do we manage the stress and turbulence of our age? by @kilokish

New Work — @levis Grunge Prep Campaign

I was invited by Levi’s to create my own campaign creative for their new collection. We spoke a lot of the push and pull that exists in the different parts of ourselves and how that plays out through our dress. The public and the private, the extreme and the subtle. Clothing can be a way to hide, display, or armor the different versions of who we are. I have always enjoyed collaborating with them through the years, through many eras and characters, and I look forward to more exploration together.

🇨🇮 moodboard —

spent about 2 and a half weeks working through script dialogue for a short film idea I got on my first visit to Côte d’Ivoire. there’s so much to be said about black american artists returning home, but I feel like I need 10 more visits before even forming a reasonable thought here. leaving with even more good questions, the stressful kind of curiosity, and a bit of the simple poetry of living. back to the states. taken in Grand-Bassam by @kilokish
