The Scream of a Grieving Mother
This is not a smile.
This is a mouth forced open by loss,
lungs burning for a child who will not answer back.
This scream is not pretty.
It is cracked.
It is ancient.
It is every prayer that went unanswered
ripping its way out of my chest.
The ocean roars,
but it still cannot drown me out.
Waves rise and fall,
yet none of them carry what I carry
a name I still call,
a face I still see,
a heartbeat my body refuses to forget.
My fists are clenched
because I have nothing left to hold.
My knees are in the sand
because grief finally took my strength.
Do not mistake this scream for weakness.
It is survival.
It is love with nowhere to go.
It is a mother refusing to be silent
about the child the world moved on from
but she never will.
This is the scream
of a grieving mother
who loved deeply,
and will love
even louder
forever.

In April 2000, I made a remark saying I couldn't wait to be a GRANDMOTHER. The next month for Mother's Day my son Tory Mitchell gave me a card and signed it, from your son and grandbaby OMG when I read that I was so overjoyed..
Now 25 years later im so blessed to be able to BRAG on the AWESOME Grandson that I have
Happy Birthday Torez Mitchell I love you beyond words. You're my #1 and im so happy to be your Gramma Kim. Thank you for all that you do for me, you are truly appreciated.
