A year ago today I rang the bell and became a cancer survivor. I carry this testimony with pride.. There will never be enough words to encapsulate what this journey has meant to me. 🥹

after beating cancer i’ve come to realize that my life changed in ways i was never fully prepared for, or even aware of at the time. over these past two years, i’ve learned not to shy away from the difficult, because you can overcome anything. you can work through anything. you are capable. you do not live within the walls of your pain.

i’ve learned that life is about facing yourself over and over again, it never really ends. i am continuously evolving, and that’s so beautiful to me. i am never really falling apart, just simply changing shape.

the sooner you realize there is nowhere to hide, the sooner you learn how to fight. God has to take you through the process to get to the promise. there is no way around it. there is no way out except through. and if you don’t choose what you want your life to consist of, eventually it will be chosen for you.

you choose the version of yourself you want to become, and that version will follow. obstacles are not in the way, they are the way. what is not stewarded will eventually be diminished.

reminiscing on this day with the people i love the absolute most and make my life complete. thank you for always celebrating me and doing everything in your will to remind me that i’m loved, not just in my good moments. the hard times showed me that i am so very well taken care of. 🥹 what a sweet sweet life… i would choose u all a million times, in every life.

i still can’t put into words how i feel, i want to share my feelings one day but right now i really just can’t say. though cancer is over, my new beginning is just.. pretty much beginning 🙃 and it’s the most beautiful and scariest thing i’ve ever lived. honestly. i know that i am thankful, everyday. for this, for everything. taken in Allatoona Lake Ga by @kimaimani
