Sometimes the best parts of a building begin with a promise. Years before the Foster Care Community Center became a reality, Austin Angels CEO Susan Ramirez met a mentor named Kimber during a Dare to Dream® Leadership Workshop. While everyone else was taking notes, Kimber was sketching the lesson through icons, symbols, and pictures. That artist was @kimber_creates Susan remembers thinking, "One day we're going to build a center, and when we do, I want you to create a mural for it." Years later, that promise became reality. After tracking Kimber down overseas, she flew in and spent three days creating the mural that now fills our Love Box® Resource Room. Inspired by words shared by our case managers, every image, symbol, and detail reflects the hope, dignity, and life-changing relationships at the heart of our mission. But this room is about more than a mural. Every detail — from the privacy windows provided by @rapidglassatx to the new, high-quality essentials made possible through partners like @cvspharmacy and the generosity of our community — was intentionally designed to remind every child, youth, and caregiver who walks through these doors that they are valued. If you'd like to help keep the Love Box® Resource Room stocked — or if your company or brand is interested in partnering with us — send us a DM. ❤️ Hope has a new address. #fostercare #resources #donate #volunteer #support by @kimber_creates

The first issue of Something for Sundays Mail Club will be sent out on July 1st! Three years ago, I began to question my religious beliefs. It was really scary at first, but it lead to a whole journey of research and exploration about humanity, spirituality & God. Now, I am making a monthly mail club where I am sending out a hand illustrated zine exploring faith traditions all around the world. You can sign up at the link in my bio 💌💫 by @kimber_creates

So excited to share that I am opening subscriptions for the Something for Sundays MAIL CLUB! When you join Something for Sundays Mail Club, you are joining a monthly subscription to get an 8 page hand-illustrated and hand-lettered zine (mini-magazine) mailed to your door each month. Each issue is about cultivating spirituality and gaining wisdom from faith traditions around the world. It is printed on beautiful paper and hand-bound by me! This zine is intended for anyone interested in religion/spirituality — devout believers, atheists, or anyone in-between. 🫶🏻 It’s no secret that AI and super-tech is shaping the world right in front of our eyes. Things are getting faster, more convenient, more instant than ever. To me, receiving or sending a letter in the mail feels like a chance to slow down. A chance to take a breath and sit with something tangible and real. I hope this zine will feel like company. <3 sign up using the link in my bio! by @kimber_creates

I am so honored to share this mural I did for @austinangelsnonprofit ! ✨ Their new Foster Care Community Center just opened in Buda, Texas. As a volunteer youth mentor with Austin Angels in 2022-2023, I saw firsthand the amazing work they do for kids and families throughout the country. I am so happy to continue to contribute to this amazing organization; this time with art! I learned so much with this mural about bringing an idea to life. Each element in this piece represents different ways Austin Angels touches children's lives. ❤️🪽 taken in Buda, Texas by @kimber_creates
