We spent the morning spending as much time with our sweet angel Jaxon before we got discharged today. It was the hardest see you later in my life. I couldn’t put him down. I couldn’t stop crying because all I wanted was to take him home with me.

When we got home with the kids we tried to go back to our normal routine because the kids have school tomorrow. We hung out in the living room before starting our bedtime routine and asked the kids what they wanted for Christmas. Avery’s answer broke my heart. She said “I want Baby Jaxon alive”. I brought her close to me and told her I wanted that too but we both reminded each other that he is with God now.

Within the past 24 hours, mark and I were going back n forth on whether or not we should bring Stella, Avery & Oliver to the hospital so they can see and say goodbye to baby Jaxon. We both initially said NO at first because we didn’t want the last memory of their baby brother to be that way.

But, then a Postpartum Nurse who went thru the same exact thing that I did losing her 4th child, her baby boy as a stillborn at 36 weeks shared her story. She was there off the clock to make hand and feet molds of Jaxon for us to bring home as a keepsake. She does this as a way for her to grieve the life of her baby boy but to also help parents who joined what she says a “dumb club” that no one should be in, and do these molds that she never had the chance to do.

We told her that we didn’t want our kids to see him like this. And she shared that during her time, she had the 2 oldest, a 6 & 5 year old (same exact ages as the girls) come and leave her 22 month old at home. But later down the road she realized that she didn’t have a family picture of all her kids because her 22 month baby was at home. She regretted not having that moment to be whole.

When she took Jaxon away to get his molds done. I told Mark I don’t want any regrets and to soak up every moment with our son physically until we can’t anymore. So he got the kids and even if it was the most heartbreaking moments for us to tell them that he died and is with God now, I’m glad we all were there as a family. We were whole. I love you and miss you so much son, I love you, I love you, I love you 🤍

My son. My sweet and beautiful baby boy.

As a parent, a mom, I can’t help but feel like I failed you. Like a complete failure that my body couldn’t be the safest place for you. I’m so sorry Jaxon. But, know that you are soooooo loved by your Ateh Stella, Ateh Avery, Kuya Oliver, daddy and mommy! I miss you so much anak.

At 31 weeks you were 4 lbs and 17 inches long. A few more weeks and you could’ve been heavier and longer. But, you are Kingdom Born. You are so blessed and lucky to be with him, hanging out with Jesus. I know you, my beautiful and sweet angel, are safe and playing with your Mama Anne and Papa Deng.

To have a child, your own child leave this earth before you do. It freaking sucks. This holiday season will always be a hard time because you’re not here my boy. But, we will always celebrate your life.

It’s takes a village. I am so grateful and blessed to have such an AMAZING and SUPPORTIVE village with me and my family. Thank you for your sweet and heartfelt love and messages during this time. Know that I’ve read each message but just don’t have the mental capacity to reply at this time.

Before we were parents, before we argued over simple things, before we kept asking at 5pm “what’s for dinner?”

There was “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you”
There was “how many kids do you think we will have?”
There was “No matter what happens, no matter where we are , as long as I’m with you, we will be okay”
