Occupational hazard of being an interior stylist: scaling a kitchen island the size of a small continent just to reach the center 😂 Thankfully, this one was worth the climb. All these interconnected rooms “unfold with remarkable cohesion. Despite numerous sightlines, each space maintains its own identity while contributing to the larger whole. Octagonal motifs repeat in millwork and painted floors, creating a quiet rhythm, while a single hue—British Racing Green—threads its way throughout, lending continuity and depth without ever feeling prescriptive.” I love projects like this, where every room has its own personality, yet the entire house speaks the same language. Hot take: Credit your collaborators. Okay, I need a small soapbox moment. Lately, I’ve noticed more and more projects being shared with zero credits. And I genuinely want to know who designed or photographed the space!!! Is it just me? If we’re bringing up the subject of credits I’d love to know where everyone stands. I’ve always believed the best interiors are a collaboration. Designers, photographers, stylists, architects, landscape designers, artisans, assistants, editors—every project is the result of many people bringing their creativity, expertise, and craft to the table. That’s where the magic happens. Maybe I notice photography credits most because I know and admire so many photographers and understand what it takes to create a single image. But the truth is, the photographs we save, share, and remember are rarely the work of one person. They’re the result of trust, talent, and a shared vision. The same can be said for every creative whose fingerprints are on the finished work. Crediting images costs nothing, but it says everything. It says you value the collaboration as much as the outcome. It says you understand that great work isn’t created in isolation—it’s built together. Sky blue walls, garden-fresh poppies, and not a single boring surface in sight. 💙 Designers @lisasokolinteriors and Sarah Johnson turned this sunroom into a masterclass in pattern-mixing, anchoring the whole space with a Maitland-Smith style chinoiserie cocktail table and a pair of neoclassical X-benches upholstered in Fortuny tiger velvet — both found on Chairish. Pinch us. Perfection. Lisa tucked this game table into the sunroom’s corner, framed by klismos chairs and that show-stopping brass bar cart just beyond. Some homes stop you in your tracks. This was one of them. I’m so excited to finally share “Rooted in Virginia” a beautiful project by @lisasokolinteriors that I had the privilege of styling and writing for @flowermagazine The moment I stepped inside this home, I was completely captivated by the details. Wallpapered ceilings trimmed in gimp, layer upon layer of pattern, color, and texture, and rooms that felt collected over time. Projects like this are a reminder that the most memorable interiors are the ones that tell a story. I can’t wait to share more from this extraordinary home in the coming weeks.
