NYT-bestselling author. PRINCESS SWAP 1 - 4 OUT from @randomhousechildrens. Repped by @ktliterary. Macaron enthusiast.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

👆 THAT SAYS WHAT I THINK IT DOES 👆. THE PRINCESS SWAP #2 HIT THE @nytimes BESTSELLER LIST.

If you need me, I’ll be crying in joy for the rest of my life.

Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who bought the book, talked about it with friends, posted on social media, and sent me kind notes. And enormous thanks to the parents, teachers, and librarians who put this series into the hands of readers.

When I was six, I wrote “Kittins” (a novella about my new kittens) and decided I was going to be a published writer by the time I was 10. Missed that deadline by a couple decades, but it’s pretty cool to think that this news would make little Kim as happy as she was hanging out with cats ➡️

WOW. That’s a wrap on @comic_con 2026. 3 days, 3 panels, 3 signings, my first enchiladas (review: incredible), the coolest and kindest and most talented people, a T-Rex sighting, joy at seeing Widow’s Bay IRL, diving into Princess Swap #5 copyedits in the hotel lobby between events, and a very full heart.

There are a lot of moments as a published author that feel surreal, and being on the Comic Con schedule was definitely one of them. ESPECIALLY to be on that schedule in conversation with incredible minds and artists like @uyenloseordraw , @alittlejelee , @a.maybeing , @kristylboyce , @heyashposton , @mustachebabs (my new fairy tale best friend), @annamercierwrites , @jpennerauthor , and @becca.erin.title.writes . (And to be taken under the wing of @rhkidsgraphic and @whitleopard as a Comic Con newbie.)

Thank you to all the readers and creators and fans who made the weekend so special, and thanks to @mystgalaxybooks for hosting our signings!!

And now, I will be in a copyediting cave for the next week. Please send good vibes and copious amounts of cold brew. taken in San Diego Convention Center by @kimbussing

I am BEYOND excited to be heading to my very first @comic_con on Friday!

I’ll be discussing all things Princess Swap, feisty female characters, and fantasy (and moderating a Dungeons and Dragons-style romance panel, a dream I didn’t know I had)! Signings to follow all panels.

Will you be at Comic Con? Let me know - I’d love to say hi! (And please let me know the SDCC things I absolutely cannot miss/the best places to grab coffee!)

See you in San Diego 🫡 by @kimbussing

Last week I turned 32, which is an age I’ve been very excited to be. Mostly, yes, because that’s the age Carrie Bradshaw and Lorelei Gilmore are at the start of their shows, and I’ll take that as a sign that the real fun is just beginning.

But also because 31 was a year of a lot of change, and even when things were hard or uncertain or I doubted literally everything about myself, that change brought with it so much laughter, themed parties, travel, friendship, Princess Swap #3 AND #4 entering the world, writing more Princess Swaps and some ~secret projects~, telling everyone how much I love cats, telling everyone how much I love Traitors, telling everyone that Vecna lives (please let me talk about this with you), and Japanese sweet potatoes.

May 32 bring just as much writing, root vegetables, inflatable sharks, and Stranger Things conspiracy theories. by @kimbussing

Finally! Here’s the fourth cover I did for the Princess Swap series by @kimbussing 📚✨

What would happen if the Frog Princess met Peter Pan, and Wendy Darling had to find her own way to Neverland?

Ahhh I had sooo much fun with this one. Peter Pan has been one of my favorite books as a kid and having the chance to draw Wendy was like a dream coming true! The composition for this book is a bit different from the others since I focused on both worlds and merging the sky with a lake was kinda difficult because of the different perspectives, but in the end I feel like this cover is my favorite so far! 💚

As always, a big thank you to @penguinrandomhouse and @puffinbooksuk for letting me be part of this wonderful project and to Kim for creating this amazing stories!

Happy book birthday to Princess Swap #4!

This book is so special to me. It was written during a period of a lot of change in my life, and creating a story (this story in particular) helped me, in many ways, find my way forward. I’m so excited for the world to meet Lissie & Wendy! (And how stunning is this cover from the magical @saralozoyart ??)

Princess Lissie of Neverland is a very good princess: she’s quiet, practices good manners, and stays out of trouble. She has even learned to live with the pesky curse that turns her into a frog each night, dodging an evil king and his scout, Peter Pan. That is, until Lissie is magically whisked to a strange house . . . with Peter Pan himself waiting at the window.

Meanwhile, Wendy Darling has a problem. All she wants is her own happy ending, but unfortunately, her father is sending her away to finishing school. And that’s all before Wendy suddenly winds up surrounded by pirates—being ordered to walk the plank. by @kimbussing

Fourteen years ago, I arrived at @georgetownuniversity , convinced I was going to be an economics major. My first day, I accidentally walked into an upperclassmen-only creative writing class, convinced the professor to let me join, decided I was going to be a novelist, and almost immediately switched my major to English (my parents took a bit of adjusting to that).

I refuse to believe it’s been 10 years since graduation, but what a 10-year celebration it was, with the people I adore in a place that shaped every bit of me.

(I spent those four years of school dreaming about publishing books, but I was equally obsessed with @the_hoya , the school paper. At one point, for a party, I dressed up as the section I edited. Long live The Guide. Long live costume parties. ➡️). taken in Georgetown University by @kimbussing

Primarily made this to help me because my mind goes blank every time someone asks what books I recently loved. But it’s also to celebrate wonderful authors and their creativity and talent (who helped me make it through a tough, exciting year).

(This is far from an exhaustive list; there are so many other phenomenal books I didn’t have space to include.)

Today is the day! Here’s the third cover that I did for the Princess Swap series by @kimbussing 📚✨

What would happen if Rapunzel made a deal with a sea witch, and The Little Mermaid wound up at the top of a very tall tower?

I’m so happy to participate in this project once again!! I really had so much fun doing this one, specially the composition of the mermaid and Rapunzel’s hair. It took a while to figure out how everything could work but everything came out smoothly in the end! 🩷

Also, a big thank you to @penguinrandomhouse and @puffinbooksuk for counting on me and let me be part of this project!

Princess Swap #3 comes out TODAY, and I’m so excited to invite you to celebrate with some events over the next few weeks.

If you’re in LA, I’d love to see you at @annabellesbookclubla , @dieselbookstore , and @villagewellcc .

For Tucson folks, I’ll be at Dusenberry-River Library (@pimacountylibrary ), @stacksbookclubaz , and @bntucsoneast .

There’ll be bookmarks, cookies, bracelet-making, princess parties, book signings, and, of course, lots of conversations about fairy tales. If you’re interested, RVSPs are recommended for most of them. You can sign up at each bookstore’s site (they’re free to attend!)

I would love to see you there!
