Today would have been my brother, Mike’s 53rd birthday.

Eleven years ago we lost him, but days like today remind me that love doesn’t end just because someone isn’t physically here anymore. This morning I laced up and did the Quarry Rock hike with my friends Chelsea and Casey, back to the spot where he passed, to sit with his bench for a while. His friends put that bench there so he’d always have a place on the trail, and every time I visit it I’m grateful they thought to do that.

There’s something about that view, the quiet, the effort of the climb, that makes space for all of it. The grief, the gratitude, the memories that still make me laugh. Happy birthday to my brother. Missed and loved every single day. taken in Quarry Rock, Deep Cove, BC by @kimheizmann

Studies show realtors check their phones every 6 seconds 📱. That number was made up by me just now, but it feels accurate 😂.

Between showings, offers, and clients asking ‘any news yet?’ this thing barely leaves my hand. At this point it’s less of an accessory and more of a fifth limb 🖐️.

Every buzz could be the call that changes someone’s whole year 🏡🔑. Or it’s me staring at my phone waiting for my kids to text back, which historically takes longer than closing on a house ⏳😂 by @kimheizmann

Spent the afternoon turning our office into a photo studio for the day with some incredible friends. A few hours of laughter, good light, and fresh photos… trading the usual routine for something we don’t get to do very often. There is something about seeing yourself look good and feeling good, it does something for your confidence you don’t expect. This shot came straight off the back of the camera, just a little peek behind the scenes. by @kimheizmann

Watch party starts at 10am this morning and some of the gang is coming together to cheer on Canada. 🇨🇦

Here’s the fun part, Canada is my country and Morocco is my pick in the pool, so today I actually win either way.

But make no mistake, my heart is red and white this morning. Canada has never beaten Morocco, not once in four tries, and there is nothing I want more than to watch this team make history right in front of us.
