My new DIY album is out on all good digital platforms today. Here’s a taste of the title track - I’ll also be playing some of these songs live at @tradese17 next Saturday in the upstairs bar - see @she17music for tickets or see link in bio. Instruments I’ve played on this album are Bass, guitar, trombone, stylophone, beats and harmonica. All recorded, mixed and edited at home. by @kimmi_watson_

Just popped out to get some hake
Had an encounter with this wee snake!!!

If anyone local has lost a baby corn snake (found on the pavement outside Gail’s on Orford Rd) a lovely woman called Sharlene and I just took it in a large brown paper bag to Goddards vets on Grove Road - where they’ll contact a tropical animal care specialist

Please share if you think you might know the owner! by @kimmi_watson_

Finally, Happy Days in Db is an optimistic call for change with a spiky Db harmonic major mouth organ riff to wrap up the Vegetarian Option album. by @kimmi_watson_

The penultimate song on the album, Dance Partner, was written about five years ago and has been performed at most solo gigs since. It was inspired by a dream as recounted by a much loved one! I closed my set on 12 September with this number too. Thanks to all who came to the gig so good to see so many friends on the night. by @kimmi_watson_

My Country is a protest song about the current unrest brought about by scapegoating flag bearers and far right rhetoric, as seen through the eyes of a second generation immigrant! The flag in this photo is the Pink Jack.
It was invented by artist and photographer David Gwinnutt and was launched in 2006 for Europride when hosted in London.
I took my Pinkjack to Zurich in July 2025 to cheer on the Lionesses in their victorious Euros campaign. Unfortunately this flag has been claimed by haters. Time to reclaim it! by @kimmi_watson_

Our opening act on 23 October is Woman Wept, a quartet from London, bringing resting-bitch-face punk to any and every stage that will have them. Their signature sound shifts indie melodies into a gritty gear; every guitar lick, angsty lyric, fuzzy bass line, and crashing drums, tastefully crafted to make the patriarchy’s toe’s curl. Anymore is not a new song as such, it was previously written and recorded as an acoustic track for my Bandcamp page and then rerecorded and released on Sulk93’s Pants on Fire album. This latest version is a nod to the original acoustic version but with a new lead guitar part and harmonies. It is a song about returning to an unrecognisable home town for the last time. by @kimmi_watson_

Not To Worry was released last May as a single this version is a shorter version of the same song that was written on an East Coast train to Edinburgh which contemplates what is left of my journey ahead. by @kimmi_watson_
