“Mother Of The Bride” … This painting is an out-of-studio painting experience. Life has been complicated and has kept me from my easel. So I decided it was a good time to experiment with Procreate. What a fun tool and great way to study the reference photo. Hopefully, I will soon be able to put paint on canvas with this one. taken in Falmouth, Massachusetts by @kimnarlee

Very excited this painting has been accepted into the North River Arts Society’s Focus on Figures exhibit. The exhibit will run from April 8th to May 4th. This painting was such a fun composition of light and shadow and the subject was an especially lovely model. ❤️#northriverartssociety #originalart #figurativeart #realism #abstractrealism #oilpainting #limitedpalette #portraitpainting taken in Falmouth, Massachusetts by @kimnarlee

Inspired by the MFA Sargent exhibit, I came home, brought this dress down from the attic, and have been working on this painting ever since … I am not sure it’s ever going to be finished but it has been so much fun just studying the dress and remembering how I felt wearing it that day, 30 years ago. How unexpected ☺️. Thank you JSS for all of your inspiration ❤️. #oilpainting #originalart #figurativeart #figures #figure #limitedpalette #bridal #bridalgown #realistart #oilportrait taken in Falmouth, Massachusetts by @kimnarlee
