Welcome back to Part 2 🎨🇦🇬

A few months ago I started this page to share my art and creativity with the world. I never imagined it would lead me to being part of CHOGM 2026 a historic moment forAntigua and Barbuda.

This final piece represents what CHOGM means to me: connection, culture, community and the idea that this moment is for all of us.

From starting this page with a dream to creating art for a moment like this I’m truly grateful for the journey.

I hope you love the final piece as much as I loved creating it. Stay tuned there’s so much more to come 🌍🇦🇬

CHOGM ’26 is coming to Antigua and barbuda and I’m putting it on canvas🖼️

But what happens when a global moment meets an artist’s imagination?🤔

I’m taking you behind the painting as we explore CHOGM what it means for our nation and the opportunities this moment can create for all of us including the creative community.🤗

And trust me… you’ll want to see how this piece comes together. 👀

This is Part 1 Watch the painting come to life, learn something new and tell me what you see in it.

Part 2 is coming… stay tuned😉 by @kimpossible445

🇦🇬 Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, The Hon. Gaston Browne reacts to “Beats of Wadadli,” the painting by Antiguan and Barbudan artist Kimberly Pimentel.

The artwork brings together elements that reflect the culture, beauty and identity of Antigua and Barbuda, with CHOGM 2026 at its heart….capturing our twin-island nation as we prepare to welcome the Commonwealth to our shores.

▶️ Hear what the Prime Minister had to say.

🎨🇦🇬 “Beats of Wadadli” Presented by Antiguan and Barbudan artist Kimberley Pimentel.

As Antigua and Barbuda prepares to welcome the Commonwealth, “Beats of Wadadli” by artist Kimberley Pimentel is another expression of the culture, creativity and identity that make our twin-island nation unique.

Kimberly recently presented her steel pan artwork to members of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and shares the inspiration and meaning behind the piece.

The presentation brought Kimberly’s creative vision directly before Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne and other members of Government, providing an opportunity to hear the story behind the artwork and the ideas that shaped it.

Standing here with my painting and the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda is a moment I’ll never forget.

I’m beyond grateful to everyone who has loved, shared, supported, and connected with this piece.

Thank you for seeing the story, the culture, the heart, and the love I poured into this painting. ❤️

I’m still trying to process all of this… but wow. What a blessing. 🇦🇬🎨✨ by @kimpossible445

Antigua telling its story through the rhythm of the steel pan.

This is the name of the painting that introduced my name to so many.🤍
It began as a challenge offered to me by Outreach Lead @brianastarlet, to make a piece that embodies Antigua and Barbuda’s culture, history and beauty.
Obviously I said “BET” 🤣 because as a young upcoming artist, this was an amazing opportunity to showcase my talent.

At the heart of my painting, is a steel pan, an instrument that has traveled through the Caribbean and found a home in Antigua, when efforts to save it began in 1947.
It is being played on the pink sandy beaches from our sister island Barbuda.

Acknowledging our past, we have the Sugar mills and Devil’s Bridge. From our traditions and celebrations, I used Carnival (can’t forget😋) and Cricket , events that not only brings locals together, but also welcomes tourists to be apart of it.

Our waters and maritime heritage are represented through Sailing week, another event that brings us closer to each other and the view of Nelson’s Dockyard, where boats fill the horizon.

And of course no story of Antigua would be complete without our national fruit, The Black Pineapple, and our national dish, Fungee and Pepperpot.

Every dent holds a story
Every color holds a memory
Every beat represents a piece of home

Once again my name is Kimberly Pimentel and I am so happy that I created a piece that made my country proud.🇦🇬🥹♥️ by @kimpossible445
