Life has been nonstop but in a good way lately. Completely full of family, friends, adventures and the kind of work the young me never dared dream of. I am exhausted but in it, present, alive, making my little projects and dreaming up bigger ones with friends. All I need is a little meter that tells me when to take a breathe so I don’t tip over into burnout. But strangely every other creative person around me is in a similar situation.

Is capitalism crushing us even harder? Is the unrest in the world driving us to frenetic levels of activity? Did Mayor Brandon put something in the drinking water? Whatever it is, it’s contagious. I really wish we could collectively build in some rest and reflection into our communities, but if that’s not happening I will try to instill it in myself as I go. And also, accept the fluctuations of FOMO & JOMO by staying centered in my own energy and passions. Wish me luck—or send advice—or ask me what I’m reading for inspo. by @kimzyn

Blocking and choreography with Impostors Theater is all of that with a side of badassery. These robbers know how to brawl!

Snow Queen runs Nov 6 - 21 at the Den Theater.

Oh, I remember—lots of shows every September! But this batch was something special. Chicago has it going on and I’m so happy to get to see so much of it and to review the variety arts for @chicago_reader
Most reviews linked in bio above⬆️but some of these shows I just went to for fun.🤩 by @kimzyn

One of the many elements we’re most excited about in THE SNOW QUEEN is the puppets. We’ve been in puppet meetings since the middle of summer, and now, with our band of storytellers in place, we’ve begun introducing our fabricated friends to their animators.

Our puppet director, @kimzyn, joined us for rehearsal with a bag full of puppets of all shapes and sizes to lead us through a workshop. We can’t wait for you to see the magic that puppet and props designers @jessie_d_uniques and @jriffic23 have been crafting this November.

Winter is coming… ❄️ Tickets to the Far North go on sale THIS WEEK. Check back here to secure your seat and meet our furry and feathery friends.

Here's five they recommend seeing to kick off the fall season!
