UMMMMMM… No, it’s not our anniversary. But it is a much needed surprise!! An absolute ray of Sonshine for my Eeyore of a day!! By the way, this is what happens when “someone” borrows my car, gets the mail, throws it in the back seat, and forgets about it. Not naming names.

But like I’ve said a thousand times, things get lost, tossed, or forgotten. This little gem (a beautifully handmade card from Carla) had fallen between the seats, and I found it in the floorboard, under one of them. Without stating the obvious, our anniversary was in May, so there’s where my car falls on our family’s vehicle cleaning schedule.

We’re never too lost for God. Never. Our past (no matter how broken), is redeemable. Our sins (no matter the quantity or caliber) are forgivable. We are all prodigals (to varying degrees), and God loves us and is always patiently waiting for our return. Always. Whether that’s a daily ritual or a decades long process, I have to keep reminding myself of this. Maybe you needed to hear it, too. by @kindofsalty

Yesterday I was hanging out with a friend. This friend is a Christian, but she doesn’t always act, speak or think like one. Some days, she is completely in-line with God’s path and some days, her life is a struggle that gets the best of her.

As our eyes met, I really wanted to say something about it, but, I decided to let the Lord speak to her heart, knowing nothing that I say will have the same impact as the Father’s words.

So…. I prayed with her, and after some time had passed, I winked at her, and walked away from the mirror.

I try everyday, and I fail everyday. I am so not perfect, I am a work in progress, and I'm thankful for God’s grace and His promises to His believers🙌🥰.

I am that woman.

Do you ever feel like satan just keeps swinging! And swinging! And swinging! Well, I sure do!! Lately, I feel like he’s keeping us on the ropes!! Headed for a TKO! So I sure would appreciate your prayers.

There’s ALOT going on around here that you could say adds up to a proverbial dumpster fire. But I just keep trying to remember “stop, drop, and roll”. Because I know that God is good. No matter what the present situation may look like. Which is…

The radiator blew on my car yesterday. But Miller and Cole had to work late for end of month inventory, so they came to look at it as soon as they got finished. It was late. They were already exhausted. I felt horrible, but IDK what I’d do without them. And the news was not good. It’s not drivable, so it’s still sitting in town. Yes, it could be worse. It could’ve happened when I was on the road, out of town.

I always want to give thanks to God. And that’s why I try to find lemonade in the lemons. But yesterday sure had its share! First, there was a FedEx truck stopped in the middle of 96 to make a delivery. Not on the shoulder. In the lane. No blinking hazard lights. Just parked. That road is crazy busy, so IDK why the driver thought that was a safe option. But we narrowly avoided a head on collision. And by narrowly, I mean IDK how I avoided losing my mirrors on both sides. Because the on coming Mercedes never even attempted to use the shoulder on their side!! Then, ten minutes later, the radiator blew, on the way to get gas!!

Lemonade: Thank you Jesus for no head-on collision, because it would’ve been BAD. I can’t even begin to tell you how scary this was or how grateful I am!! Crazy as this sounds, I’m also thankful that I had to get gas, because my gauge never showed hot, and we couldn’t see the steam until we pulled up to the pumps at Kroger. That’s when Adam noticed it. Thinking I’d swim some stress away, after we got a ride home, the pool was a chilly 72 degrees!🥶 But I toughed it out, because I needed the water therapy and Vitamin D boost. To be sure, that’s definitely a hefty dose of lemons. But remember to thank God for the lemonade!!! Always!!🍋🍋 by @kindofsalty

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE HUMANS ON THIS PLANET!
There are so many wonderful things to celebrate about him, but my favorite is his heart. I have learned how to love Jesus better just by watching him grow in his own relationship with the Lord. Growing up, his favorite quote used to be “a strong man stands up for himself. A stronger man stands up for others.” Whenever he messed up, he would always pray, right then and there, out loud, asking God to forgive him. The conviction of the Holy Spirit in him absolutely blew me away. Made me realize how much spirit work I needed to do. He couldn’t stand to see anyone broken or hurting in any way; he always wanted to fix it for them. To make their pain stop. So I wasn’t surprised at all when he decided to get baptized and give his life to Jesus (He already had his heart).

My second favorite is probably his quirky sense of humor. He has such an amazing laugh. And it melts my heart to hear. Because there was a stretch in time where he didn’t laugh much. A moment when his spark was dimmer. But as sad as that made me, I was even more proud of his courage and strength to speak up and tell me that truth. Then stand firm in his decision to step away from that situation. That season of his life.

Cole truly is one of a kind. And we’re so grateful, proud, and blessed to call him our son! Happy Birthday, buddy!❤️

Going home usually makes me happy. It’s a chance to hug my parents, visit a spell, and see my hometown. Today was not that. Funerals are always sad (even when there’s humor, like today). The grief of saying goodbye to someone you loved, the emotions of seeing other people you love with broken hearts, and then the crushing reality that none of us is promised tomorrow. It’s heavy stuff. But a somber reminder to always hug your peeps and never leave without saying I love you. It’s also a great encouragement to live love, share hope, and be kind. Or at least do the best you can.

Prayers for the family and friends of Steve Phillips. We spent many summer vacations with them, the Maxwells, and the Neals in Myrtle Beach. That seems like an eternity ago. But nothing like the eternity to come. I’m so happy he’s home.🧡 by @kindofsalty

11:11 means sooooo much to me!! I really have no answer for how or why it all started, but for years (and I mean YEARS) I have had an alarm on my phone set to pray at that time. Every. Single. Day. I have one set at noon, too, but that one came later, when we lived in Pennsylvania, and my friend Richard asked me to pray against the attack of the enemy for him. That was 2012ish, and 11:11 has been longer than that.

Over the years, I have invited so many people to pray with me at that time everyday. Maybe they do. Maybe they don’t. Maybe you’re one of them (and I truly hope you are). But either way, it’s a God wink in my day, 365 days a year, and it’s absolutely precious to me.

This morning, I woke up in an unfamiliar place, as I’m visiting friends for a surprise bridal shower. And this necklace is the gift I found on my towel. All of it so thoughtful and done with love. Because that’s who Carla is. Always the dearest prayer warrior and bestest hostess. IDK where she found it, but that (and everything else) make the unfamiliar feel familiar. Very peaceful and like being home. I am beyond blessed by her and the time I get to spend here with her. This was the note in the box with the necklace:
