AUSTIN

Our final guest artist is Austin! This is his first time performing with (Kin)esphere, and we are thrilled to have him. Austin is a powerhouse performer who fully embodies the roles he dances and brings a strong theatrical presence. He is multi-talented, with experience in multiple styles of dance, and truly lights up the stage with his energy.

My name is Austin Chan and I am a guest dancer here with (Kin)esphere. I’ve only been introduced to modern styles of dance in my recent years of college but it has been a pleasure opening my eyes to a new style of movement! I’m also part of a dance company known as Revive where I specialize more in hip hop. I have also worked with City Dance at Fresno City College for many years. I’ve performed for several events here in the Fresno area such as alley wave and the Fresno fair!

COURTNEY

HAPPY FIRST MOTHER’S DAY to this beautiful amazing dancer mama!! Baby Charlotte brought so much joy to our shoot. How sweet is this pic?! Courtney is the most thoughtful, caring and beautiful human who brings such a chill, relaxed and warm vibe to any space she’s in, and while we’ll miss her onstage this time as she takes time to focus on her new role as a mom, we hope to have her (and Charlotte) dancing with us again soon!! We love you Courtney!!

Courtney joined (Kin)esphere in 2023 with her performance in “Sufrimiento”. Courtney started dancing at the age of 13 as a classically trained ballet dancer in her hometown of Chico, California before expanding her repertoire to include a wide range of styles including jazz, contemporary, and modern. Courtney attended Inspire School of Arts and Sciences during her high school years where she was encouraged to explore diverse styles of movements and choreograph her own pieces. She has trained with Alonzo King’s LINES dance company in San Francisco, as well as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. Dance has taken a new role in Courtney’s life after the birth of her daughter, Charlotte, alongside her husband Kevin in December of 2023- while she doesn’t dance as much as she used to, she deeply appreciates the community and inclusion that she has felt with (Kin)esphere.
