A five-story Cold War bunker hiding in plain sight. 🇭🇺☢️

Built in Hungary, during the 1950s, this massive BGS bunker was designed to protect people from bombs, gas and radiation.

Four levels. Massive reinforced-concrete walls. Independent power. Ventilation and filtration systems.
A forgotten piece of the Cold War — now slowly being reclaimed by time.

Built by the British in 1779 during the American Revolution, this fort held American prisoners and was used for coastal defense against a possible French invasion. The fort was later re-occupied by the British during the War of 1812, then taken by the Americans and abandoned in 1819. In 1861, when the American Civil War broke out across the southern United States—taking the lives of over a million people—the Union restored the fort and used it for ammunition storage as well as to hold Confederate prisoners of war. During both World War I and World War II, the fort was used as missile storage for submarines. Submarines would pull up to the fort, load missiles, and then head into the Atlantic to eliminate the threat of German U-boats along the coastlines. After World War II, the fort was used for military storage until 1960, when it was cleared out and left to deteriorate due to advances in military technology. Today, the coastal fort sits nearly forgotten in a harbor, serving as a reminder of America’s forgotten past. taken in Abandoned America by @king.explores

Kelenföld Power Plant — Budapest 🇭🇺

One of Budapest’s true Urbex holy grails. ⚡

Built between 1912 and 1914 the Kelenföld Power Plant once played a major role in supplying the city with electricity and district heating.
Its enormous turbine halls, industrial machinery and iconic Art Nouveau architecture tell the story of a place that powered Budapest for generations.

A legendary location where industrial architecture, history and Urbex come together.

Happy 250 birthday to the USA 🇺🇸 🎂 🎉 🎁

Yes, our politicians on both sides have failed this nation. There’s a lot of corruption going on, but let’s not forget: we the people are not the government. We the people will stand united. All government empires collapse after 250–300 years. We the people are not going anywhere. This is our home; we were born here, and we will give new life here. We will bleed and die here. The Epstein class will fall eventually, but we the American people do not represent the Epstein class. We will stay on this land and continue to stand united for many centuries to come.
