First of all, we, INLEGAL LASER, would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone for every listen, every share, and all the support you’ve sent our way for our song "TAXI" 🚕✨
This track represents another major milestone for us, crafted with all our heart and dedication. Today, we’d like to pull back the curtain and share a bit of the "Behind the Scenes & Recording Process" of this song—what we went through to bring you the sound you hear today…
It all started with the word "Taxi", which had been floating around in our heads for a while. As we were shooting the music video for "Nothing Left", we thought to ourselves, half-jokingly, that for our next song, we should have P'Gap (Gap Professor), our sound engineer, take on the lead role in the MV, as his vibe just fit the character perfectly.
Once we locked in the hook, P'Khun and P'Oat began laying down the song’s structure, produced a demo, and shared it with the rest of the band. After listening and getting together to discuss the song's direction, its overall vibe naturally evoked images of a "big city, neon lights, and solitude."
This inspired us to blend elements of Synthwave, City Pop, Lo-fi, and 80s Retro Japanese Lovers Rock into the track, all while keeping the core DNA of INLEGAL LASER as strong as ever.
We hope you enjoy the ride with us in this "TAXI"! 🎧🔥まず初めに、僕たち INLEGAL LASER の楽曲「TAXI」を聴いてくださった皆様、シェアしてくださった皆様、そして温かい応援をくださったすべての方々に、心から感謝申し上げます。この楽曲は僕たちにとってもう一つの大切な一歩であり、持てるすべての力を注ぎ込んで作り上げた作品です。
本日は、皆様の耳に届いているこのサウンドが完成するまでに、僕たちがどのようなプロセスを歩んできたのか、**「制作とレコーディングの舞台裏」**を少しシェアしたいと思います。
「TAXI」制作の舞台裏
この楽曲のスタートは、僕たちの手元に「Taxi」というキーワードがしばらく前からあったことでした。ちょうどその頃、僕たちは「Nothing left」のMV撮影を行っていたのですが、ふと戯れに「次の曲のMVでは、バンドのサウンドエンジニアであるギャップさん（Gap Professor）に主演をやってもらおう！役割的にも一番ぴったりだよね」という話になりました。
その後、サビのメロディが完成すると、クン（Khun）とオート（Oat）が楽曲の骨組み作りを開始。デモ音源を制作してメンバー全員に共有しました。デモを聴いた僕たちはミーティングを開き、この楽曲をどのような方向性へ進めるべきか話し合いました。
楽曲が持つ空気感から、**「大都市」「ネオンの光」「孤独感」**といった情景が浮かび上がり、そこから80年代日本のレトロな雰囲気を感じさせる Synthwave、City Pop、Lo-fi、Lovers Rock といった音楽ジャンルがインスピレーションとして選ばれました。もちろん、INLEGAL LASER らしさはしっかりと残したままです。First of all, we, INLEGAL LASER, would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone for every listen, every share, and taken in Phatthalung, Thailand by @king_phitak_i

1. What is "Phap Kak"?
In traditional Thai mural paintings (such as those detailing the Ramakien or the life of the Buddha), the main focus is always on royal, divine, or noble characters. These primary figures are drawn with strict traditional rules—elegant, poised, and emotionless.
However, Thai master painters loved to insert "Phap Kak" (which literally translates to "dreg paintings" or "scraps"). These are background characters depicting ordinary citizens, soldiers, or, in this case, monkeys from Phra Ram's (Rama's) army. Through these minor characters, artists had the freedom to express humor, realistic human behavior, and the actual lifestyle of that era.
2. The Context of the Monkey Painting
The specific mural showing monkeys smoking a cannabis bong (บ้องกันชา) can be found at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) in Bangkok, painted around 80 to 100 years ago during a major restoration.

A Snapshot of the Past: Before cannabis became strictly criminalized in the mid-20th century, it was a normal part of Thai rural life. It was used as a traditional herb, a cooking spice (especially in boat noodles and curries), and a relaxant for laborers and soldiers after a hard day's work.
