✨ 10 years teaching yoga ✨

On this day in 2016, I completed my first YTT certification. Never could I have foreseen the gifts that this practice would offer me, both personally and professionally.

9000+ classes taught.
2 online courses built out.
Tons of specialized workshops.
Even found myself instructing a portion of yoga teacher trainings for new yogis getting certified.

& 13 years since I first stepped on the mat to practice for a year, before falling out of it for another 2, then eventually making my way back to it as my next career path.

The depth of these poses is reflective of so much more than just what my physical body can do.

Not visible, but most certainly felt, is the depth of my adventure into the Self. The journey towards inner mastery.

My yoga mat has held me through grief, anger, resentment, and uncertainty. It’s also nurtured joy, health, resilience, meaning, empowerment, connection, and that loving feeeelinnnnn’ 🤍

Grateful. For all of it.

Whether you’ve shared space with me in class once, hundreds of times, or been a friend from a distance - a heartfelt thanks 🫶🫧

What’s next? Maybe leading a retreat one day?

P.S. This was exhausting to make haahahaha I was sWEATing in that hot studio. Really needed that savasana let me tell yah

As I always say:

Human first.
Student second.
Teacher third.

Here’s to folding myself into a pretzel and protecting that energy budget til I’m 102 (a gal can dream)

Howe Sound Crest Trail!! *also LOL wait for it 😂💀😭

Distance: 30.1 km
Elevation: 1728 m
Time: 10 hrs

Had the best time sweating, cry-laughing, yelling ‘FrAnce’, and rating each others’ bails with @flellofit @westcoast.jess this weekend as we ran/hiked/slogged from Cypress Bowl to Porteau Cove 🤩

On a serious note, there are a couple no-fall zones, and on an unserious note, this was tooooo hilarious not to share

How I want to be remembered tbh (the PMA - not the inability to stay on my feet lmao 🤷‍♀️)

Next trail race in 2 weeks! Buckin’ Hell 35km, 2000m gain. Then my big goal for the year of racing my first 50km next month 👀 by @kingagorski

I started running in March 2025, and signed up for my first trail race just 2 months later in May...

With only 5 weeks to train for a course that was 17km and 1400m elevation gain.

Essentially a vertical trail race. Typical Kinga.

This is a timely video drop—and I don’t just mean that because it’s the sequel to my last video (about my training for this race, check it on the channel)—but timely also because this race was filmed this time last year, meaning Seek the Peak is just around the corner again in a couple weeks.

Today’s video is game day!

********************************

New @YouTube video is live 🎥 Seek The Peak! (FIRST EVER vertical 17km TRAIL RACE)

[link in bio to watch ⛓️‍💥]

This is what we’re diving into:

🔹 Race day play-by-play! Duh!
🔹 Post-race recap! *all the thoughts*
🔹 One sneaky thing I’ve come to learn about trail racing
🔹 The thing I was really grateful to have trained (since I only had 5 weeks to plan)
🔹 My only 3 goals for the race
🔹 The most challenging part of the race
🔹 It’s not necessarily about being the fastest, but also about...

==> Check out the link in my profile, or search directly on YouTube “Kinga Gorski seek the peak” <==

Wild that this marks my 1 year anniversary of trail racing, considering my 1 year running anni (I’m talking a 5km run club jaunt around the city) was just a couple months ago, in March.

Since I tackled this first race last June, things escalated quickly...

I’ve now completed 8 trail races.

Earlier this month, I ran my first 35km trail race.

It took me 5 hours, with 1550m elevation.

I made 14th in my division and 21st female overall.

Training is well underway for my first ultramarathon in August—the Squamish 50k. 🤠

P.S. It’s been a thousand years (translation: 2 months) since my last YouTube video drop, and frankly, I’ve accepted that I roll in waves of creativity. I’ve also been busy, you know, running uphill. by @kingagorski

Survival of the Fittest 💥 my first 35k 😭 I made my goal of a sub-5 hr race by the skin of my teeth !!!

Distance: 35 km
Elevation: 1550 m
Official chip time: 4:58:37

Overall: 77/200 runners
Gender: 21/77
Division: 14/37

I’m always a little nervous before racing a new distance. Unchartered territory and all that. My actual moving time was 4 hrs 35 minutes (the rest was aid station stops and problem solving lol) which is wild to me that I could cover that distance in that amount of time.

I went to bed by 4pm, woke up by 8pm (woops overshot it a bit lmao), fell asleep again by 11pm.

3am wake up. With my period gracing me with its presence on race day. Again. 🫠

2 bails - the first at 22km on a single track made of rocks the size of golf balls. I got scraped up pretty good, but the irony was that laying chest down on the ground was the most relaxation I’d had in 22km since I started running lmaoooo would’ve loved to stay there for a bit, it was like rock acupressure - just like the ancient yogis used to lay on a bed of nails 🤣🧘‍♀️ but alas, I had to get up and keep it movin’

Second fall was at 28km - literally dunno what happened (trail running amirite) but on that one I impaled my neck twice on a stick which was a new experience

Calves seeeeized a couple times around that point and I had to stop for about 30 seconds each time to stretch them against a tree. Guess who needs to up her calf conditioning game. They’re def my weakest link on these big efforts. Aside from picking up my damn feet and staying upright 😂

Veered off course once (even with a 60-second course marker guarantee, lol).

This was my strongest feeling race yet and I’m shocked I still had it in me to run up some of the inclines towards the end. Finished feeling surprising great & my back wasn’t too sore from carrying a ~10 lb pack, yew!

Thanks to @coastmtntrail for the event, @garyrobbins for the funniest pre-race emails in the league, and the volunteers who make it all happen.

Right now my next confirmed race is the Squamish 50k in August (ahh) but I’ll get another one on the books before then to keep that training motivation up. Buckin’ Hell 35k? 🥲

@5peaks Alice Lake - 18km Grit

6th in my division
10th female overall
1 hr 56 min
🥳

6:20pm bedtime (proud of this lol).

3am wake up (with a stiff neck, classic - seems to either be this or my period on race day whyyyy)

2 hefty slams - first one, the goddamn root protruding from the side of the bank was covered by a fern or something so my shin did -not- see that coming.

The second one though, that almost took me out… ah. Nice raspberry on my shoulder, thought I might’ve sprained my wrist (we gucci!), hit my head (also good!!), barrel rolled onto my knees, thankfully was still alive 😅

Bleeding from my fingers in these photos while also tryna take down a gel that squeezed over the spout all over my hand after my second bail… but still with a smile and hope in my eyes, always 😂🤦‍♀️

Made my goal of sub-2 hrs even though I hadn’t ran for 2 weeks prior to the race since my calf seized skateboarding, #sigh

The most beautiful day to run w my friends in the Spring sunshine 🌞 my fav part of the whole race was when 5 of us from @mondaysrunclub happened to find ourselves in the same section 7km into the race and we were all bombing down the single track at like a 4:55/km pace in a field that had just opened up from a long stretch in the forest, and the sun suddenly started beaming down on us - pura vida baby 🥰🌾 proud of us !!!

As for the aftermath… my left achilles, calf, and hip are muy angry w me right now and I’m on self-imposed house arrest which is tough. At least I no longer feel like I got hit by a bus from the falls and I still have all my teeth. Ola Kala!

Next up in May: Survival of the Fittest 35km (pray for me fr 🏴‍☠️)

Last Spring, I did something new (again).

I signed up for my first trail race May 2025, and the race was in June... with only 5 weeks to train for a course that was 17km and 1400m elevation gain.

Ambitious, and classic Kinga.

New @YouTube video is live 🎥 Training for my first vertical 17km TRAIL RACE! (Seek The Peak)

[link in bio to watch ⛓️‍💥]

This is what we’re diving into:

🔹 Why the hell I’m doing this (running uphill is exhausting fr)

🔹 The importance of voluntarily challenging yourself and doing hard things

🔹 A “day in the life”, which includes a 4am wake up where I tackle the Grouse Grind x3 ascents (b2b2b, ugh gross)

🔹 The friggin’ proceduuuure of getting ready for a long run/race

🔹 Training runs between North Vancouver & Squamish

🔹 & more

Never say never. 36 & still tryna get with my own program 🤷‍♀️

Whether it’s trail running, racing, or something else you do that other people think is wild—what’s your “why”?

“yes, and” ✨

Spring in your mid-30’s.

My first time back on a board in 4.5 years since I last broke my arm reaaaaal baddddd (second time in 11 months no less) so today felt like a great redemption. I knew back then I wasn’t gonna go out like that so here we are back on the cruiser. Though no more skateparks for this gal I think, ha.

Rad day!

Run Ridge Run 25km 🌲🏃‍♀️

Redemption! My first race since the Rubble Creek 25km saga in September (maybe now I can finally stop talking about it 😂 pro: PR’d… con: also ER’d 🫠 god that was rough.)

Woke up with my period on race day morning at 4:30am. Wooooof. Nothing like your hamstrings on fire slogging uphill and subsequent gelatinous quads bombing downhill while you intermittently feel the zoom of your gels kicking in before the inevitable wet cement truck of your menses takes over.

Back n forth, back n forth, round n round we went over 3 climbs + descents totalling ~1200m through the woods of Anmore 🌀🌳

Only fell once 12km in - a barrel roll right back onto my feet & straight into a run like a gazelle so, mad style points ha.

Also s/o to the dude at 9km who helped me pop on my water hose spout when it flew off and I couldn’t get it back on for the life of me while water was spewing everywhere. Mayhem 😂

Actually fuelled properly, what an astronomical difference it made. Felt fresh as can be by the finish line (all things considered, even though everything hurt lol).

& yes, even with a 60 second course marker guarantee… I still went in the wrong direction and bless the angelic runner who yelled at me to turn *that* way 🙈

Met my goal of sub 3.5 hrs (3 hrs 25 min) and felt content given that it was my first Winter race, I was totally undertrained in elevation over the last 5 months since I took a break after my last race (was mildly traumatized and didn’t run a trail for 3 months lol ahh but we back baby) and obviously given that my monthly cycle had graced me with its presence. Made top 27% of women in the 25k distance so that was pretty alright for feeling like a bag of bricks.

So awesome running w @erichsaide @seatoskymomma @jacobvmierlo @mlakhram @damien.ker, cheers from @lefildarianeb, bumping into @the.endurance.dietitian, plus a few more friendly faces at the start & end. Got that finish line feeeelinnnnnn’ 🥳 Proud of us !!!!

Next up: Survival of the Fittest 35km in May 💥

Thanks to @coastmtntrail for another rad race & of course all the wonderful volunteers who help make these events happen at the end of the day. 🙏

2025. This has been an insane year.

Among the highlight reel shared here—taking up cold plunging, running, trail racing, making so many new friends, doing all the rad new things like canyoneering & multi-day backcountry hiking/camping…

Not pictured are so many goodbyes.
So many endings.

Some my choice, and some “not by my hand, but in my lap”—so I deployed my sense of agency and they became my choice.

All in the name of protecting my peace & owning my sovereignty.

Choosing what aligns by doing the hard thing and bidding farewell to anything, and anyone, that doesn’t.

I started ocean plunging in winter. 2 weeks later, running like the wind (800 km+ this yr). Got renovicted. Shelved my online course ventures over the last 9 years to rewild myself & be in the trees. Cut myself off from my dog who lives with my ex (it was just time, y’know) - I take solace in knowing she has a good life over there, even though I’ll always hope to see her around. Cut ties with family. Was a vagabond for 3 months. Spent days in the woods with people I didn’t know, who quickly became people I did know. Turned 36. Competed in 5 trail races. Moved 3 times. Elevated boundaries & standards. Got my assisted stretch therapy certificate. Taught allll the yoga classes. Yes my Google calendar is fully colour-coded and crazy looking, but still there’s always a window avail for the people & experiences I care about.

I received a couple of the biggest compliments recently: that it looks like I live a full life, and that I commit.

It takes so much courage and is often the harder thing to do, but when I’m 103 sitting in a rocking chair & looking back on the adventure that was my life, I feel confident I’ll be able to say that I was really l-i-v-i-n ✨

Law of Duality: endings can only bring new beginnings.

To the extent that you allow yourself to feel the darkness & integrate your shadow, in equal measure you’ll be able to feel love, be grateful, & see the beauty in everything.

There are a gazillion things & people I’m missing here but if we’ve shared a special memory + some big belly laughs, thank you 🫶🫧
