RIP Tallulah 2012-2026 🖤

We said goodbye to the OG baby this weekend. She was an incredibly good girl. Patient with everything and delightful with kids.

The house is oddly quiet without her snoring.

Thanks Tallu! Everybody loved you by @kingcyrusking

ten years ago we got married in the woods, off a back road on the way up to big bear, at the summer camp where they filmed the parent trap, in the round, with no cell reception and not a phone in sight, and everywhere we looked there were odd pairings of friends and family that had never met each other, mingling, even bunking together in the cabins, helping arrange flowers, or adventuring to collect badges for challenges like drinking a mystery beverage or having their tarot read, or dancing to the dj, or the irish band, or following the second line with our new orleans brass band.

you can always tell when someone’s heart is full because the sentences run on!

anyway, we’ve been looking back at the photos all weekend.

i wish you all could have been there. so many of you, i didn’t know then. and to be honest, there are a lot of people i literally haven’t seen since that day... and a few we’ll never get to see again. sometimes it feels like our wedding was a goodbye party for that chapter of our lives. and that’s ok. i think the way this decade has played out - 3 houses, 3 jobs, 3 kids - can make us seem a little hard to reach. but we’re here! and when i do see old friends… or spend a weekend like this, seeing rap and death metal shows back to back with my best friend @sionann… it feels like 2016 wasn’t so far away.

here’s to many more 🖤 #campshancy #groomsmilk taken in Camp Seely by @kingcyrusking

In the hub bub of announcing a @manmanbandband tour yesterday, forgot to mention that @subpop finally released a song “demo” recorded many moons ago by @kingcyrusking for a short film directed by @justonias staring @mary.elizabeth.winstead and yours truly. The demo kinda gathered dust until it was added to the @cyberpunkgame soundtrack and found a whole new life under the in-game band name “Fingers and the Outlaws.” It was funny to me that out of all the songs I submitted to the game that they picked this one but it’s completely awesome that it finally found an audience. Much love to everyone who’s messaged over the years or covered it on YouTube. We’ll def be adding it to the live show. Without further ado, stream away or grab it over at our band camp. 😘 #manmanbandband #subpop #soitgoes #cyberpunk2077 by @kingcyrusking

I’ve been traveling a lot for my work at Netflix. Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa… but I can’t begin to recap any of it without looking back on my time in Seoul for SQUID GAME. Over the past two years, I went to Korea more times than I went to the beach. Here’s a handful of memories from two incredible seasons. I fell in love with Korean culture and absorbed as much as I could during each short stay. Even when we worked long hours, the lights of the city, the spice in the food, and the musical tones of the language would re-energize me into the night. The partners I had both stateside and abroad have inspired and influenced me forever. Together, we broke every record there is in TV! The projects I directed racked up hundreds of millions of views, and I’m proud to have played my part in making #squidgame the most popular anti-capitalist work of our lifetimes.

in my old recording studio, taking in black lodge vibes as we put together the best @manmanbandband album. many of my friendships over the years deepened over a common love for David Lynch, especially Twin Peaks, especially especially The Return.
