First half marathon ✅

1:56:08 • 6th overall • 1st in my age group 🥇

Didn’t hit the sub-1:50 goal, but I’m still incredibly proud of this one.

More than anything, I’m grateful.

Grateful to God for giving me the ability to run, move, and keep going when the race got hard.

Grateful for my family being there to support me and experience this with me.

And grateful for how much can change in a year. Running 13.1 wasn’t even on my radar not long ago and today I crossed the finish line of my first official half marathon.

There will be time to break down the race, learn from the cramps, and chase the next goal.

Today I’m just thankful.

First half marathon complete. 🙏🏾🏃🏾‍♂️

College football from the hard camera. 🎥🏈

Track the action. Anticipate where it’s going. Stay smooth and adjust in real time.

There are no second takes in live sports. Miss the moment and it’s gone.

Pretty grateful this gets to be part of what I call work.

Being behind the camera is only part of working a live broadcast.

Before the game started, we were testing audio, setting cameras, helping talent and making sure everything was ready to go.

Then it was game time. 🎥

I spent the broadcast behind the camera, and once the game was over, we still had a postgame interview to capture.

A little look at what a day behind the broadcast at the University of Tulsa actually looks like.

What made the broadcast vs. what I was doing to capture it. 🎥

One shot. One chance to get it right.

Live sports production is fast, physical and all about staying ready for the moment before it happens.

Always cool seeing the final broadcast compared to what was happening behind the camera.

Three years ago, I was more than 60 pounds heavier and living a completely different life.

I’m not sharing this journey because I have everything figured out. I’m sharing it because I know what it feels like to feel stuck, unhealthy and unsure of where to begin.

God has been faithful through every step—the weight loss, the setbacks, the discipline and the growth.

Now I’m training for races, building Kingdom Performance and continuing to become the man God has called me to be.

This journey is bigger than fitness. It’s about faith, family, discipline and showing others that change is possible.

This is only the beginning.

I started crying during my first half marathon. Not because I was missing my goal, but because I was overwhelmed with gratitude. 🙏🏾

Around mile 9, my legs started cramping, and my sub-1:50 goal was slipping away.

But in that moment, I couldn’t stop thanking God. For my health, the strength to keep moving, and the opportunity to run 13.1 miles.

I finished in 1:56. Not the time I wanted, but a moment I’ll never forget.

All glory to God! ❤️

My family drove. I ran. Same destination, different pace. 😂🏃🏾‍♂️

After our daughter’s soccer game, we decided to have a picnic at the park. I had 4.5 easy miles on my training plan, and wouldn’t you know it…the park was exactly 4.5 miles from our house!

So my wife picked up lunch with the kids, I ran, and we met up at almost the same time.

One of my favorite finish lines yet. ❤️

My alarm was set for 5 AM. My body decided 4 AM. 😅

After 20 minutes of trying to fall back asleep, I had a choice. I could use my six hours of sleep as an excuse to skip my HYROX workout, or I could get up and get it done.

Here’s what I’m learning: Excuses don’t always sound like excuses. Sometimes they sound like perfectly good reasons to put something off.

Rest matters, but so does showing up when you can.

Don’t let a change in your plans become a change in your goals. 💪🏾

23:15. NEW 5K PR! 🏃🏾‍♂️🔥

Went into this time trial chasing a personal best. Heavy rain pushed my morning run to 6:30 PM, but I was determined to give it a shot.

The last mile, especially the final 1K, turned into a mental battle. Glad I kept pushing!

✅ 5K PR: 23:15 (-12 sec)
✅ Mile PR: 7:23
✅ 2-mile PR: 14:54

Still think I had a little more to give. Proud of this one!

5 matchups. One camera. No second takes.

As soon as the promoter taps one pair, I’m already moving to the next shot.

Live production is all timing, miss the moment and it’s gone.
