My family surprised me with a birthday trip to meet Hayden Christensen! We met him, he signed an official 2005 Star Wars LEGO set that @sithmyirz rebuilt for me and then we took a photo with him. Amazing day!❤️❤️ by @kingkoby16

I have had the busiest and probably most thrilling past six months of my life (heads up, this is A LOT haha) (Part 3 of 3)

Picture 18 through 25 are the events that took place yesterday, May 11. I graduated with a bachelors in Civil Engineering with a minor in mathematics!! The white and orange cords represent my membership in the Tau Beta Pi Honors Society, the stole represents my membership as a part of ASCE, and the Honor Medallion represents my achieving of the Summa Cum Laude award. Our first event of the day was the steel ring ceremony. This ceremony inducts me into the Order of the Engineer. This pledge is a commitment to uphold all standards of an ethical engineer. Next was the commencement ceremony where we received our diplomas. This day was such a dream and I am so excited it is finally here. The endless days and nights of hard work have paid off!!

The last picture and video are of the most close to my heart. I want to start with a small backstory. In 2019, my grandfather on my Mom’s side passed away from dementia. The next month, my grandmother on my Dad’s side passed away. To have them here with me, I wore one of my grandma’s earrings on my left ear and I made an earring out of one of my grandpa’s old horse keychains for my right ear. I am also wearing my grandpa’s old green tie and a cross necklace he and my grandma gave me years ago. When I was 13, I recorded a video of my grandpa and I talking about what I wanted to do when I grew up. I didn’t know how special this video was until he was gone and I was stuck in the middle of college. I would replay this video on so many nights that I was struggling and missed him. It kept motivating me to accomplish my goal. I knew if both of them were here today that they would be so happy and excited for me. This evening, Seth and his family surprised me with a homemade cookie jar gift that said “everyday cookies” on the front of it (insert tears cause he had me going…..) This was an homage to Dede (grandpa in Croatian) and it just made me think about how proud he would be today. I like to be healthy but I might have to have “one cookie a day”. We did it Dede!!

I have had the busiest and probably most thrilling past six months of my life (heads up, this is A LOT haha) (Part 2 of 3).

Pictures 11 and 12 are one of my greatest achievements. I was awarded the valedictorian for the Civil and Environmental Department at Cleveland State University. This event was special to me because this journey has not been easy and being able to even be nominated for this award makes all the hard work worth it!

Pictures 13-16 represent the climax of my engineering work at Cleveland State University. My team consisting of Mike Roach, Dalton Evans, and Elijah Haller have been working on our Capstone since August. This day was our senior design symposium where we all displayed and explained our project to judges and industry leaders. Our group won the honorable mention award in the field of student lead competitions.

Picture 17 displays my team that following Monday at the ASCE Chapter meeting, hosted by Cleveland State. Our team presented our project to the members and also shared with them the great honor it was to have each other as such a great team. taken in Cleveland State University by @kingkoby16

I have had the busiest and probably most thrilling past six months of my life (heads up, this is A LOT haha) (Part 1 of 3)

Picture 1 represents a time between December-March. I was studying for my FE (Fundamentals of Engineering Examination) constantly and just starting my engineering career. I had my last day at Menards (which was right near my five year anniversary with the establishment) and learned I had passed my licensing examination.

Pictures 2 through 5 are my surprise birthday trip from my boyfriend, Seth and my brother, Steven. We went on a weekend trip to meet my favorite Star Wars actor, Ian Mcdiarmid who played The Emperor. Ian signed the first ever LEGO set that his character appeared in as a minifigure and a poster of him that I had. In addition, we also met and took photos with the Mario voice actor, Charles Martinet.

Pictures 6 through 9 are events of the ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) Eastern Great Lakes Competition. This year, my Capstone group chose the steel bridge competition as our senior design project. At this competition, we unveiled our bridge and participated in competitive challenges. We won first place in the aesthetics portion!

Picture 10 represents the evening of April 21. Seth, Steven and I went to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Batman (1989) by watching the film at Playhouse Square in front of an amazing live orchestra. by @kingkoby16
