Q2 2026

I tried to neglect posting anything of the season ending because truthfully, I don’t want it to be over. Which is crazy considering I was in no way shape or form planning to march this winter. But no matter how badly I want to be back under the colonels canteen doing vis warm up saturday morning, it is over. I’ve learned so much about myself this season and it all starts with these amazing people. A huge thank you to @cesar_moncada for taking a chance on me. I know I almost blew it in the beginning but thank you for never giving up on me and letting the past define me. You’ve helped me push past every limit I thought I had. And thank you for putting this snare line together. These guys have undoubtedly been the greatest group of people i’ve ever had the honor and pleasure of being with every weekend. And to the snares, I love you guys with all my heart. You all re ignited my love for this activity. You all are special to me in so many different ways. Thank you guys for being yourselves. Thank you for letting me drive you guys around. Thank you for never making me feel out of place. Thank you guys for making my dream of performing under the bright lights of UD a reality. I cherished every moment of every block I had with you guys like it was my last. I’ll be counting the days till I get to see you all again, in the meantime, don’t forget about me. I’ll always be your guys biggest supporters and i’ll always be proud of you all. Nothing could’ve prepared me for how much I would end up missing you guys, but nonetheless, i’m glad I get the privilege to be sad because I got to know you all. I drove 3 and a half hours every weekend and yes, it sucked. But for you all, I’d do it every day.

Now with the indoor season being over. I can’t forget to thank this special girl who not only encouraged me to do indoor but has also found ways to help improve my abilities without even directly saying anything to me. This is my girlfriend Kiara. She’s very good at cologuard and winterguard and I couldn’t have made it through my 2 seasons of indoor drumline without her. She’ll be the first to tell you she had to literally force me to go to auditions at palmetto last year because I was afraid of meeting new people. And now those people who she once had to force me to meet are some of the closest people to me. I met her during my first year of marching band and I’ll be honest, everyday during practice I would look for her because I just thought she was so pretty and had the best energy ever and I really wanted to get to know her. After a few random encounters she comes up to me after one of our competitions and just stares at me. I thought it was kindve funny at the time but she claims she spoke to me but she didn’t. And ever since that day we slowly started speaking more and more and I will forever recognize that day as the day my life was set on a completely new path. From then on she has supported me through every decision and I couldn’t be more grateful. She’s pushed me to becoming not only the performer I am today, but the man I am today. She’s been my rock and I couldn’t be more thankful. Kiara, thank you for putting up with me for so long, I know I can be a hassle to deal with but just know I’ll always love you. I’ve loved you ever since I saw you that first day at band camp. You’ve changed my life for the better and I hope you know that. Thank you for helping me through all my personal struggles. You saw me as a scared and lonely child and helped create the best version of me. Nothing you’ve done for me has gone unnoticed I promise you that. Through all our disagreements and struggles I will always love you. You are amazing and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. I love you so much ❤️🫶🏽 by @kinglogey

Grease 25. This past season has meant a lot to me because it occurred over a time period where change was constantly happening around me. I showed up to auditions not expecting to make gold, just hoping to make some friends. I was more or less afraid of going through my first year of college not knowing anyone. But that all changed when I got the talk from Mr. Matt Henley himself letting me know I got the spot. I couldn’t be more grateful to have been put in the position I am in now. Being able to have formed the connections with everyone not just on the snare line but in the drum line in general, it’s been the best gift from the lord I could’ve ever asked for. This past season has forced me to grow not just as a player but as a person as well. From early morning practices to late night snare subs, it was hard. Not just keeping my up with all these talented people, but mentally and physically as well, i’ll admit it. But I wouldn’t trade those hard times for anything else the world had to offer. To the snare line : Thank you guys for giving that scared boy a chance to become better and never giving up on me. I will always appreciate every word, good or bad, from every single one of you. You all helped mold me into the person I am and will become. (Hope you guys enjoy the mini jump-scares😛)
