The last two weeks have been BUSY… and extremely difficult to train. 🏃🏾‍♂️💨

From being in Des Moines, Iowa for my daughter’s AAU Junior Olympics and watching her bring home an All-American medal 🏅, to getting back home and immediately hitting the ground running with marathon training AND football season for my boys. 🏈
Honestly, finding the time and energy to train hasn’t been easy. Life be lifing!!

No excuses though. I’m dedicated to this. It’s a lifestyle for me.

Even with a full week in Iowa and everything waiting for me when I got back, I’ve still logged 50+ miles over the last two weeks and I’m right where I need to be to be ready to CRUSH my marathon. 🔥

But before the marathon, there’s business to handle…

📍 September 20 — DC Half Marathon
🎯 The goal: PR

The miles are adding up. The work is getting done. The schedule may be chaotic, but the goal hasn’t changed.

One mile. One workout. One day at a time. Let’s get it. 💪🏾🔥

35 miles. Countless reps. One goal. 🏃🏾‍♂️💪🏾

Week 2 of this marathon training block is complete, and every run is teaching me something. Some days it’s about chasing a faster pace. Other days it’s simply about showing up when life feels heavy.

Balancing work, family, training, and taking care of your mental health isn’t easy. There are days when motivation disappears, but discipline keeps moving your feet. Those are the days that matter most.

This journey isn’t just about crossing a marathon finish line. It’s about becoming stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally—one mile, one workout, and one decision at a time.

If you’re chasing a goal while juggling everything life throws at you, keep going. Progress isn’t always loud, but consistency always wins.

What’s one goal you’re working toward right now? Drop it below—I want to cheer you on. 👇

Save this post for the days you need a reminder to keep showing up, and share it with someone who needs to hear this today.

This is what the work looks like the day before a long run (13.1 miles) to end the week of training. All work no gimmicks and yes we really do talk crazy to each other in and out the group chat! #BULLIEVERS #MORNINGGG #RUNNERS STRENGTHTRAINING WEARENOTARUNCLUB by @kingof1celf

Brick by brick. 🧱

Nothing happens overnight. Every run, every rep, every early morning, and every meal is another brick being laid toward getting better

Right now the goal is simple: build to 30 miles a week while putting more intention into my strength training.
I’m not chasing perfection—I’m chasing progress. Every week is another opportunity to improve.

If you’re building toward something too, keep laying your bricks. We’ll get there.

The week of the the 4th is always extra special because it’s always a holiday when it’s you/her birthday. Turning 35, we escaped to Scottsdale, Arizona, for an unforgettable first time. From the views to cozy dinners, every moment was a gift. I’m so grateful for you and the memories. Here’s to many more! Arizona will definitely see us again!!!!
Yall know I had to take in the views and get a run in 🤷🏾‍♂️ 😂

Strength and endurance looked a little different this week.

The workouts were tough, but not because of the weight on the bar or the miles on the watch. Sometimes the heaviest thing you’re carrying is everything going on in your mind.

There were moments I didn’t feel like showing up, but I did anyway. Not every workout is about setting a PR. Sometimes it’s simply about proving to yourself that you can keep moving forward.

As Men’s Mental Health Month comes to an end, I want to give a shout-out to every man who’s fighting battles nobody else can see. Keep talking. Keep showing up. Keep choosing yourself, even on the hard days. Your strength isn’t measured by staying silent—it’s measured by refusing to quit.

One workout. One run. One day at a time. We keep building. 💪🏾🏃🏾‍♂️🧠

If this resonates with you, drop a 💙 in the comments and tag someone who needs this reminder.

Motivation gets you started, but discipline keeps you going. 💪🏾🏃🏾‍♂️

Some days the miles feel easy. Some days the weights feel heavy. Some days neither goes according to plan. But growth happens when you show up anyway.

Right now, I’m focused on building strength, improving conditioning, and becoming a stronger runner one workout at a time. Every run, every rep, every early morning is an investment in the person I’m becoming.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is consistency. Keep moving. Keep grinding. Keep believing. Your future self is counting on the work you put in today.

Grateful to celebrate freedom, community, and fitness while doing something I love. Now it’s time to turn the page and start a new training block focused on building strength, increasing weekly mileage, and learning to hold my target paces more consistently.

The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. One run, one workout, one mile at a time.

A marathon will take you through every emotion just like life and just like life you might have to slow down sometimes or even stop to regroup or sometimes you get motivation from your people or total strangers along the way but as long as you keep going and FINISH you’ll be glad you did.
