In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month,
this project sheds light on a cycle too many are forced to endure in silence.

It’s the story of a manipulator who tries to break a woman
he never expected would rise beyond him.
A man who creates life he refuses to show up for —
yet claims love louder than he gives it.

A man who harms
then calls her the villain
for choosing to walk away.

There are always multiple stories…
but behaviors reveal the truth long before words do.
When a narcissist loses control,
they rewrite the script —
desperate for a reaction to justify their lies.

This work stands for every survivor
who has been torn down
by someone battling their own reflection.

It exposes love-bombs disguised as safety,
substance abuse disguised as “just water,”
children used as leverage instead of loved as miracles.

It acknowledges the hands that hurt —
and the strength it takes to finally fight back.

Some people polish their image for the world,
while hiding the chaos they create in private.

This series is for those who escaped.
For those still trying.
For those reclaiming the pen to their story.

I had so much fun creating this dope backdrop at Thrift Therapy! [2524 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC]
To be able to have access to such cool items to create this scene is a blessing. Extremely grateful to be in the position to have a space to style my models and remain creative.

@kingreeko5 : I decided to go with a relaxed & comfortable fit. The off white top with the dark denim played well together, while also adding the Chelsea boot and jacket for another layer of style!

@_morgo_16 : the sheer peacoat and bag were definitely the star of the show! Paired with the fitted cocktail dress!? 👌🏾😮‍💨 I went with the Jessica Simpson shoe for extra pops of color.
