Today I’m introducing the new discus into their beautiful new home.
These stunning fish come from the amazing store @diskuskeller and were privately co-supported by @michelsdiscus — thank you both so much for making this possible. 🙏🔥

I’m adding them by hand, which is the gentlest and safest method for these sensitive beauties. My hands were prepared beforehand to protect their delicate slime coat, ensuring they enter the tank healthy, calm, and completely stress-free.
A truly magical moment bringing these incredible fish into my big, freshly prepared aquarium. ❤️👑🐟

Ich setze sie per Hand ein, da dies die schonendste Methode für diese sensiblen Fische ist. Meine Hände wurden vorher vorbereitet, um ihre empfindliche Schleimhaut zu schützen, sodass sie gesund, ruhig und völlig stressfrei ins Becken gleiten können.

A little maintenance session on my bathroom aquarium. 🌿🐠

Nothing too crazy today — just cleaning the glass and getting the old water out. A quick little refresh for one of my favorite aquariums at home.

As always, I like keeping these maintenance sessions simple and showing you the process as it happens. And don’t worry, the fresh water is coming in the next video! 💧

Another maintenance session on my Balance Aquascape. 🌿

As some of you might remember, I had a bit of a rough start with this tank because I placed too much aquasoil on top of the rocks, and quite a lot of it ended up falling down. That still releases nutrients into the water from time to time.

Combined with the pretty intense lighting from both the backlight and the lamp above, I occasionally need to clean the glass. The good news is that it’s getting less frequent! And just because you see me cleaning the tank regularly doesn’t mean I’m doing it every few days. In this case, several weeks had actually passed since the last time.

Despite the challenges, I absolutely love how this aquarium is developing. And my Yellow King Kong shrimp seem to be feeling right at home, too. 💛🦐

Sometimes, a setup just needs a little more time to find its balance.

Weiter geht’s mit der Maintenance an meinem Balance Aquascape. 🌿

Wie sich manche von euch vielleicht erinnern, hatte ich mit dem Becken einen etwas holprigen Start, weil ich zu viel Aquasoil auf den Steinen platziert hatte und einiges davon wieder heruntergefallen ist. Dadurch gelangen immer wieder Nährstoffe ins Wasser.

Zusammen mit der ziemlich intensiven Beleuchtung durch das Backlight und die Lampe über dem Aquarium muss ich deshalb ab und zu die Scheiben reinigen. Die gute Nachricht: Es wird tatsächlich weniger! Und nur weil ihr mich regelmäßig beim Putzen seht, heißt das nicht, dass ich alle paar Tage ranmuss. In diesem Fall waren seit der letzten Reinigung tatsächlich schon einige Wochen vergangen.

Trotz dieser kleinen Herausforderungen liebe ich es, wie sich das Aquarium entwickelt. Und auch meine Yellow King Kong Garnelen fühlen sich darin offensichtlich richtig wohl. 💛🦐

Manchmal braucht ein Setup einfach etwas mehr Zeit, um seine Balance zu finden.

Part 2 of 2: Bringing my tube terrarium to life! 🌿💚

Time to add some greenery to this unusual little setup!

I’m introducing several types of moss, along with one of my favorite kinds of terrarium ground cover: Selaginella uncinata. This little plant is especially cool because of its beautiful blue-green, almost iridescent shimmer. It spreads across the ground and adds a completely different color to the layout.

Combined with the lava rock and those rounded Zen pebbles, I think this is going to be such a beautiful little landscape.

And that’s exactly why I love experimenting with unconventional setups. You never know how much potential a different approach can have until you try it! 👀

Teil 2 von 2: Mein Tube-Terrarium erwacht zum Leben! 🌿💚

Jetzt kommt endlich das Grün in dieses ungewöhnliche kleine Setup!

Ich pflanze verschiedene Moosarten ein und ergänze das Ganze mit einem meiner liebsten Terrarien-Bodendecker: Selaginella uncinata. Die Pflanze ist besonders spannend, weil sie einen wunderschönen blau-grünen, fast schillernden Glanz entwickeln kann. Sie breitet sich flächig über den Boden aus und bringt damit eine ganz besondere Farbe ins Layout.

Zusammen mit dem Lavabruch und den runden Zen Pebbles wird das, finde ich, eine unglaublich schöne kleine Landschaft.

Genau deshalb liebe ich es, mit ungewöhnlichen Setups zu experimentieren. Manchmal entdeckt man erst beim Ausprobieren, wie viel Potenzial in einer ganz anderen Herangehensweise steckt! 👀

Part 1 of 2: Building my next terrarium! 🌿

Terrarium number two for my new shelf setup is taking shape, and I’m trying something a little different this time.

Instead of using this tube terrarium upright, as it was originally designed, I’m laying it on its side. I love finding new ways to use things, and with the integrated light, this opens up so many interesting possibilities for the layout!

I’m starting with a little substrate, lava rock and these beautiful rounded Zen pebbles. I’m also keeping the glass slightly angled so moisture can collect inside rather than escaping too easily, while leaving some room for excess water to collect at the bottom if needed.

I already love the look of this setup, and I’m excited to see it come together in Part 2. Sometimes, all it takes is looking at something from a different angle. 👀

Teil 1 von 2: Ich baue mein nächstes Terrarium! 🌿

Das zweite Terrarium für mein neues Regal nimmt langsam Form an, und diesmal probiere ich etwas anderes aus.

Anstatt das Tube-Terrarium wie ursprünglich vorgesehen hochkant zu nutzen, lege ich es auf die Seite. Ich liebe es, Dinge auch mal unkonventionell zu verwenden. Gerade mit der integrierten Beleuchtung eröffnet das unglaublich viele neue Möglichkeiten für das Layout!

Los geht’s mit etwas Nährboden, Lavabruch und diesen wunderschönen runden Zen Pebbles. Das Glas liegt dabei leicht angewinkelt, damit die Feuchtigkeit möglichst gut im Inneren bleibt und nicht so schnell entweicht. Gleichzeitig bleibt unten etwas Platz, falls sich überschüssiges Wasser sammelt.

Ich liebe jetzt schon, wie dieses Setup aussieht, und freue mich darauf, es in Teil 2 fertigzustellen. Manchmal muss man die Dinge einfach aus einem anderen Blickwinkel betrachten. 👀

Time to bring this little diamond-shaped terrarium back to life! 🌿💚

Unfortunately, this little beauty didn’t make it through a period when I wasn’t home often enough to keep up with the regular misting. Sometimes life gets busy, and our little projects need a fresh start, too.

Instead of giving up on it, I decided to rebuild the whole thing and create something new. In this video, you can follow along as I start bringing my mini terrarium back to life.

Nature meets smart lighting. 🌿✨

My beautiful Balance Aquarium combined with my Philips Hue and Nanoleaf setup — bringing a little piece of nature together with modern LED lighting at home.

I absolutely love how everything comes together. The plants, the water, the colors and the atmosphere. I could honestly watch this all evening.

Another little upgrade for my nano setup! 👀

After cleaning my mini nano terrarium with the FZONE 2-in-1 Cleaning Tool, it’s time to try another new gadget: the FZONE Nano Surface Skimmer.

It’s a fully electric skimmer that pulls in the water from the surface to help remove surface film. Small, practical, and a pretty cool addition to a tiny aquarium like this!

Let’s get it installed and see how it fits into the setup. 🦐

Ein kleines Upgrade für mein Nano-Setup! 👀

Nachdem ich mein Mini-Nano-Terrarium gerade mit dem FZONE 2-in-1 Cleaning Tool geputzt habe, kommt jetzt ein weiteres neues Gadget zum Einsatz: der FZONE Nano Surface Skimmer.

Das Gerät saugt die Wasseroberfläche elektrisch ab und hilft dabei, den Oberflächenfilm zu entfernen. Klein, praktisch und eine ziemlich coole Ergänzung für so ein winziges Aquarium!

Also bauen wir das Teil mal ein und schauen, wie es sich in meinem Setup macht. 🦐
