This week, our CEO, Head of Delivery for Africa and Director of Marketing, Communications and External Affairs met with H.E. Samira Bawumia, former Second Lady of #Ghana, to discuss opportunities to support young people.

We spoke about KTI’s work through our #Achieve and #GetInto programmes, which help young people build the skills, confidence and experience needed to access employment opportunities and create sustainable livelihoods.

We also explored shared priorities around women’s economic empowerment and climate action through the Samira Empowerment & Humanitarian Projects.

Together, we’re working to create more opportunities for young people to thrive 🌍

Meet Rondell from Trinidad and Tobago! 👇

Rondell took part in the #MeToWe mentoring programme, delivered by the @volunteercentertt.

Before joining the programme, Rondell found speaking in public daunting. Through one-to-one mentoring, he developed the confidence, communication and leadership skills to express himself, navigate challenging conversations and step outside his comfort zone.

Today, he's putting those skills into practice as the public relations officer for his school student council, while working towards his long-term goal of starting his own accountancy business.

When young people have someone who believes in them and supports their growth, they can discover strengths they never knew they had. 🌟 by @kingstrustinternational

A brilliant visit to @octopusenergy with this year's Global Sustainability Award winner, Shannon!

Shannon shared the story behind @aquaubique and how, with support from the Enterprise Accelerator programme delivered by @kingstrustaustralia, he turned an idea inspired by his military service into a business that creates clean drinking water from air. His innovation is helping reduce plastic waste while improving access to safe drinking water in remote communities.💧

Connecting our award winners with our corporate partners is a key part of what we do, creating space to share ideas and build relationships! 🤝 by @kingstrustinternational

The world of work is changing and young people need the right skills to adapt and shape their own futures💡

With 40% of today’s skillsets no longer matching job market needs, access to quality training and support has never been more important.

This #WorldYouthSkillsDay, we’re spotlighting our work in #India through #ProjectLehar, delivered by the @agakhanfoundation. The programme supports out-of-school girls in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh with education, vocational training and life skills, helping them build confidence and access new opportunities.

A huge thank you to the @lseg.plc Foundation for their continued support over the past two years.

What if the greatest impact #philanthropy can have isn't responding to today's challenges, but strengthening the systems that shape tomorrow?

In a new OpEd, King’s Trust International #AfricaAdvisoryBoard Co-Chairs Ofovwe and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR argue that Africa's most durable progress will come from investing in people and the institutions that enable them to thrive.

They explore:
✔️ Why strong institutions matter.
✔️ Why philanthropy is at its most effective when it combines capital with time, expertise, influence and conviction.
✔️ Why education, employability and entrepreneurship are the practical bridges between young people's potential and their livelihoods.
✔️ Why investing in young people and public-sector reform are two halves of the same promise.

👉Read the full OpEd via the link in our bio.

While in London for the #KingsTrustCelebration, Global Young Achiever Award winner Oluchukwu visited the offices of @wwt_inc to share the story behind his work to improve access to affordable healthcare and essential medicines across Nigeria.

Through the #SustainableEnterpriseChallenge programme, Oluchukwu gained the skills, confidence and support to launch @chrismedpharmacy and develop solutions that help low-income families access the treatments they need.

At #KingsTrustInternational, we work to connect the young people we support with our corporate partners to create opportunities for mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Meet Haqeem and Tony from Malaysia! 👇

Haqeem and Tony are young entrepreneurs who took part in the #Team programme, delivered by @selangoryouth (SAY) and funded by @hsbc.

After overcoming addiction, the programme helped them build practical skills, confidence and resilience through hands-on learning, including cookery sessions, teamwork and project planning.

Using the skills they developed, they co-founded their own burger and drinks business. Today, their stall serves customers at markets, football matches and carnivals. They also dedicate a portion of their earnings to support the rehabilitation centre that helped them on their recovery journey.

Every young person deserves the opportunity to build a positive future. Haqeem and Tony are proof of what's possible. 🌟 by @kingstrustinternational

We were delighted to collaborate with @goalshouse for our first event at #LondonClimateActionWeek last month.

Our panel, Scaling Youth-Led Climate Innovation: How governments, business and NGOs can support green entrepreneurship, explored how to better support grassroots innovation and move early-stage ideas into sustainable, long-term ventures.

With thanks to our panellists Tom Mitchell, Ayesha K. Khan, Christopher Fitzgerald and Matey Richard for an insightful discussion. We heard powerful examples of how young people are tackling climate challenges in their communities, alongside the barriers they face in scaling solutions, from access to finance to limited networks and support systems.

➡️ Local communities and young people are central to inclusive, effective climate action.
➡️Long-term funding is critical, climate solutions need time to learn, adapt and scale.
➡️Scaling impact requires ecosystems, not just finance, with the private sector playing a key role through mentorship, partnerships and early adoption of innovation.
➡️The main lesson was that solutions are not created in silos with collaboration a necessity for managing the climate crisis.

A few shots from our latest #TeamBarbados sessions 📸

The 12-week Team Programme, delivered by The Barbados Police Service, combines classroom-based learning with outdoor and community challenges to help young people build confidence, resilience and practical life skills. Since 2016, it has supported more than 5,159 young people aged 16-25.

During the community project phase, participants took part in green and beautification projects at St Jude’s Primary School and St Stephen’s Primary School, supporting local sustainability and environmental improvement in their communities 🌿

We're grateful to our delivery partner @the.barbados.police.service and to @cibccaribbean and The Maria Holder Memorial Trust for their continued support.
