🗳️ LET ME EDUCATE Y’ALL ON SOMETHING REAL QUICK!! ✊🏾💯

America is celebrating 250 years of independence, but understand this… BLACK PEOPLE didn’t have equal access to the ballot for most of that history!

Black men gained voting rights under the 15th Amendment in 1870, but our people still faced discrimination, threats, violence, and laws designed to keep us from voting. It took until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to finally put stronger protections in place.

PEOPLE FOUGHT, WENT TO JAIL, GOT BEATEN AND EVEN LOST THEIR LIVES FOR A RIGHT THAT SOME OF US DON’T EVEN TAKE 30 MINUTES TO EXERCISE TODAY! 💯

Now let me explain something because I think a lot of people don’t understand the difference between this election and the presidential election.

🇺🇸 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: Every 4 years, we vote for who will lead the country as president.

🗳️ MIDTERM ELECTION (NOVEMBER 3, 2026): We’re NOT voting for president. We’re voting for people who represent us in Congress and run our state and local governments. Here in Texas, that includes our GOVERNOR, U.S. SENATOR, state lawmakers and other officials.

These are people making decisions that affect our PROPERTY TAXES, CHILDREN’S EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE, BUSINESSES, COMMUNITIES AND EVERYDAY LIVES!

STOP THINKING THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS THE ONLY ELECTION THAT MATTERS!!

I don’t care if you’re BLACK, WHITE, HISPANIC or ANY OTHER RACE… YOUR VOTE MATTERS!

But I’m speaking especially to MY BLACK PEOPLE right now. ✊🏾

Our ancestors fought too hard for us to have a voice for us to sit back and act like it doesn’t mean anything.

You don’t have to agree with everybody. You don’t have to support the same political party. But you SHOULD educate yourself on who’s running, what they stand for, and how their decisions affect your family and your future.

WE CAN’T KEEP COMPLAINING ABOUT CHANGE IF WE’RE NOT WILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROCESS!

NOVEMBER 3RD, GET OUT AND VOTE!! 🗳️✊🏾

KNOW YOUR HISTORY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. USE YOUR VOICE.
