Here’s more Ned’s Lola covers! HAPPY AAPI HERITAGE MONTH!

(I mean as happy as you can get it to be, considering the world is hot garbage right now)

So when I said I’d stop doing big drops I was almost full on lying. This is like the biggest drop yet. And for one reason or another, my brain went “Avengers” so everything here is Ned and Lola teaming up with someone from the greater MCU

If you can’t tell, super hyped about Thor: Love and Thunder coming soon.. Thor & Spidey are my Marvel favorites. My only regret is I don’t have Natalie Portman’s Thor in here.. maybe after the movie? But if I do any more “Ned’s Lola” drops, I should also try to get back to the Spider-Man universe (Man anyone have a good Rhino idea? That one has me stumped.)

If you’re confused about the beach one, just look up “Charles Atlas comic book ad” - when I was kid, comic books always had this goofy advertisement. I wanted to make sure I drew ‘Wave’ somewhere considering she’s the first major Filipina in Marvel.. and she’s ocean-based so I thought this might be the funniest place to put her. Thanks to the homey @siriairsicap for being the reference for Wave!

FYI, these were ready a few days ago, but for various reasons I’ve been making minor alterations. Also I’ve been holding off posting almost any art because of the BS happening in current events.. like I would for real real start a post then some awful news happened so I’d delete it.. then start it again then delete it. But then I realized maybe something here will make someone at least half smile. Or even if it makes you roll your eyes, I’ll take it.

Prints will be up soon in the usual places.

Thanks to @shea21 for the Tagalog check.. @riss76 for the English check and to the wifey @gail22md for reminding me about napkins (and generally being the quality/funny checkpoint for any of these)

#So the bad news is, this is my last big ‘drop’ of Ned’s Lola covers. My schedule is busier these days so it takes me longer to make these. I’ll still do them, but they’ll probably trickle in one or two at a time here on Insta.

The good news is, included with the usual 5 covers, I did a bonus one-page comic ‘ad’ page.. reminiscent of the ones Marvel and DC would put in their issues, advertising Hostess products. It’s a real thing, you should look them up and see how ludicrous they were.

(BTW in my head canon, Kate Bishop is like Ned’s second cousin, so she knows full well who would train her in Tsinelas throwing. I also put her in the wedding cover) by @kinjamin_art

[UPDATE: sorry due to flight cancellations I won’t be making any Thursday events]

Hi everyone! Ah so our flight got cancelled to SD today and I won’t be in until tomorrow - so I won’t make my original time at the booth unfortunately! I’ll still make it to Lumpia Factory tomorrow night tho!!

I will however be at Kidheroes on Friday at 11am (if we’re late - sorry may be jet lagged) So my full sched is:

Hi all! Happy SDCC 2026 week! Since I covered the “Peace” deities, I wanted to make sure I cover Apolaqui and his War Crew since they’re A.) the opposite end of the spectrum and B.) The main focus of this particular series.

Apolaqui is THE War God that’s been there since the dawn of time, but HAAAAATES it. You can read about it in his bio. I also put out the bios of his Maganito (Priestess) Belinda, one of his warriors Adobo, and Belinda’s pet boar Lechon..

I mentioned it before but I designed Apolaqui to be a living Weapons of Moroland. He is also RED for the war side of the 🇵🇭 flag. (Note it’s also why on the cover for issue 2, Belinda has the taming shield with the war side up on her shirt)

Issue 1 and 2 are available on the Kid Heroes website (link in my bio) - plus there will be SDCC exclusives for both issue 1 and 2! by @kinjamin_art

Hi all! Can’t believe SDCC is right around the corner! My book Anito: Book of Entropy will be available at the Kid Heroes Booth!*

I wanted to dive a little into a certain family of characters that play an important part of the storyline. Bulan (and their other various names) are the God-team defending our main character Belinda, who is accused of being involved in the murder of a couple of war gods. The catch? Belinda is the Maganito (Priestess) of Bulan’s eternal rival! Things definitely get out of hand.

So in each book there’s typically a bio of one or two of the characters.. but the Bulan Collective is an infinite number of Gods in one, so I can’t exactly put all their bios in the actual physical copies… so figured may as well put them up on the Socials! I like to sneak in some actual Filipjno myths in the descriptions! If you’re a old school fan of the Marvel Universe or Transformers Universe series, or DC’S Who’s Who, you may get a kick out of these (wish I could take credit for coming up with including bios in Anito, but it was @patricioginelsa ‘s genius idea)

Happy last day of Pride Month! 🌈
So if you pick up Anito: Book of Entropy #2 and you get to this page, I don’t exactly label everyone in this lingling-o collage (it’s not needed in the context of the book) - but here you go! Issue 1 establishes there’s a Council of War Gods.. and, as it turns out, there’s also a Council of Love Gods who we briefly show here. They may show up later in the series? Who knows?

(Also apologies for the subpar lettering on the page, @daifukumochi82 does a much better job in the actual issue)
