I am a MARATHONER 🏃🏼‍♀️

I am speechless!! 🥹 I did it!!

FIRST female OVERALL 🥇
22nd overall

BOSTON QUALIFIED ✅

Can’t believe I won (first female overall) on my first marathon!! THANK YOU JESUS ❤️

The heat was brutal. Sunny. Humid and 80 degrees. I was shooting for a 3:10 but im happy with a 3:15!!! I DEFINITELY have a 3:10 in me. But im very happy with a 3:15 considering the brutal heat & humidity AND my first marathon!!

Shoot for those big goals & never give up!! Here’s to chasing those dreams 🥹💫⭐️ taken in Irving, Texas by @kinlee.fit

….And I’m grateful for every hour, every day, every year, & all of the blood sweat and tears❤️‍🩹

Those years shaped me into the person I am today. Even though it was hard. Even though I deeply struggled after I retired. Even though it’s caused me pain. Even if it was some of the worst & best times of my life. I’m forever thankful. It taught me sooo much. I learned so much. It literally shaped me into who I am and how I function.
I do miss those days. But I also believe everything happens for a reason. I am the person today because of it. I was blessed I got those years of my life!

I will always have some piece of me that’s still a gymnast. ❤️

LIFE UPDATE 💙🦋🫐

✨Update 1: Im just about in my third trimester of pregnancy 🥳 so blessed to have made it this far with a healthy baby! To be fully honest. Pregnancy has been the HARDEST journey I have ever been on. Being sick for 20+ weeks, water retention, ankle and hand swelling, the weight gain (it’s very hard and I don’t feel like I recognize myself & being 5ft & pregnant… 🤣 it’s SO different. Belly growth is only OUT & large lol) battling anxiety & depression worse than I ever have in my life, & now hip pain! I’m VERY grateful for a healthy pregnancy & baby boy!! But being pregnant isn’t easy. I’m in the home stretch and I can’t wait to meet my baby!

✨Update 2: I have been working out for a while during this pregnancy!! I lift 3x a week for 30 + minutes along with 3x 30+ minute elliptical sessions. On my other days I do long walks , 50 + minutes of walking! I aim to hit 10k + steps a day no matter what! It’s been so nice to have some sort of goal! I can’t wait to start my postpartum journey and feel like myself again with running & lifting.

✨Update 3: the reason I haven’t been posting is during the first 14/15 weeks of pregnancy I was advised to rest & not workout with how sick I was. Then I started slow with just walking and now I’m feeling so much better and doing so much more! I was couch bound and didn’t have anything to share. Now I’m working out more! things just look different. My body feels foreign. The weight gain is hard to cope with. So I haven’t felt comfortable sharing much! But I’m excited to share my postpartum journey & getting back into everything!! I’m just taking each day as it comes. I want to continue this page for sure! I just really needed a break during this season. But I will be back!!
It’s hard to be online and not compare yourself to other pregnancies or things like that. So I needed to not get stuck in the comparison trap. Every pregnancy is different! I’ve just been handed some very crappy cards 🤣

There’s so much more to this pregnancy & all that’s been going on. But that is my update for now 🩵 I have been healing & finding my joy again. I cannot wait to be a mom & meet my little boy! by @kinlee.fit

First trimester update 🩵

Wow oh wow has it rocked my world.

When I hit week 5 is when I got hit with the nausea. For me it wasn’t just “morning sickness” it was ALL day sickness. I couldn’t event stomach a cracker. Everyone kept telling me to eat a couple crackers and have ginger chews…. Absolutely did not help. I was extremely nauseous all day and all night. Couldn’t move off the couch. I was throwing up and not having a good time. I then got put on medicine to help! Which it did help but not fully at times. I still experienced some nausea every day but it wasn’t as extreme.

This lasted for the entire first trimester and into the second! I am now a little over 16 weeks and have been feeling the best I’ve felt in months. At 14 weeks I was still throwing up from smells or not eating first thing in the morning. But I’m praying that has fully passed 🤞🏼

Mentally this has been very challenging. I feel so much better and back to normal most days but some days I still struggle. My anxiety has been extreme and I’ve lived in fear. That has been something I’ve been working on as well! This has been the hardest challenge I feel like I’ve walked through. Mentally and physically.

I’m sharing all this to be 100% real. Not every pregnancy will be like this. Every women is so different and every pregnancy is different. It’s been very hard but I know that it will all be worth it and that I can get through it. I’ve had amazing support from my husband, family and friends.

Seeing the baby has been so incredible!!

This is why I’ve been so quite on here. I just started walking again. I have been out of all exercise due to being so sick and doctor recommended. (Trust me. She’s all for my exercise during pregnancy but every time I tried a walk or run I was extremely sick for another 2 days after. It was hard for my body to recover!)

Now I’ve been walking for a week increasing it every day! I’ll start adding in weights with walking next week!

This season has looked so different. Nothing like I imagined but becoming a mom is all I’ve ever wanted. 🩵

I will slowly be getting back on here and post a life update soon! 🫶🏼

Chasing skinny got me: A missing period, always cold, lingering injuries, obsessed with the number on the scale, low moods & being very moody (I was not fun to be around), hair loss, zero hormones, constantly thinking about food, afraid of eating out, afraid of eating anything outside of my “safe” foods, calorie counting, low energy, no emotions, bone loss, brain fog, memory loss (which is so scary. My memory from 2014-2015 is gone when I was at my lowest) body checks, ab checks, low heart rate & my organs/heart being in danger. & so much more.

What chasing STRONG got me: Winning my first marathon, building mental strength, qualifying for Boston, running strong half marathons, PR’ing in races, a strong body, lifting HEAVY & feeling good, a healthy consistent cycle, healthy hair & skin, a genuine happy smile, laughing with my husband, eating out for enjoyment, no more fear foods, no food noise, fueling properly & a lot, falling in love with training again, no more weighing myself (I have no idea my weight & plan to never know) no calorie counting, food FREEDOM 🫶🏼, JOY, training hard, having lots of energy, NO more body checks & having my life back & living it to the fullest ❤️

I’m so glad I got my life back. I’m so glad I found racing back in 2023. It truly saved me. It showed me that if I want to achieve my big racing goals I HAVE to fuel to train hard and run hard. 2023 was my last ED relapse after a 10 year battle of many relapses & struggles. All of these pictures are from my last battle with ED.
I’m so proud I found freedom & broke myself from the cycle.

I may not have visible abs anymore but I have everything else back. My life & living it to the fullest. & to me that’s worth it.

I am building a strong body & a strong mind 🫶🏼⚡️
And I am forever thankful for the ability to run & lift heavy. For my healing & recovery ❤️‍🩹

I wanted to share this in honor of National Eating Disorder awareness week 💙💚

How I’m adding volume to my training without the extra miles ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Hi!! If you don’t know me, my name is Kinlee & I am currently training for the Boston marathon!! 💙💛
My plan for Boston is to celebrate this achievement & feel strong! I don’t have any crazy time goal besides to BQ at Boston. 🦄

I battled a lingering injury last year & this year my goal is to stay injury free. Especially while training for my dream race!

So with that said. I am building volume WITHOUT the milage.

I believe there is a time & place for hard training seasons & higher mileage seasons. Currently I am in a lower milage season but with high volume. 👏🏻 & that’s okay!

This training season I have supplemented some miles for time on the elliptical. I am still getting in the time on my feet but without the extra stress!

I have also been running off of time not miles. It takes the pressure off of weekly milage (which I can definitely obsess over)

There’s nothing wrong with weekly milage. I plan to train that way again. But for now. I’m training with time!

✨How I’m building high volume: I currently run 4x a week. After the majority of my runs I hop on the elliptical to continue to build my body in prep for Boston! On my non running days I am on the elliptical for 60+ minutes at a time. It’s been building as the weeks have gone because of marathon prep.

I currently train 6x a week with 5x weight training sessions. It’s what works for me!

I honestly have been feeling so strong in my runs & in my training! On the elliptical I go by HR & RPE & destroying my quads with high resistance on workout days 🤣

Cross training really works. Building volume with cross training WORKS ⚡️ don’t be afraid of it. Use it!! It’s such a great & safe way to build volume without the extra stress!!

Let me know what you think of adding volume without the miles!!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I used to be able to rep out 10 no problem 🫠

So now I gotta get back to that 👏🏻 My goal is to get to 3 sets of 10 reps 💪🏼

I was stuck on 5 reps for MONTHS. …. Now im up to 7. Progress!
So I’m putting my goal out there!! Doing chin ups/pull ups 2-3x a week. Even though I DON’T like them 🤣 but I KNOW consistency will pay off.

Anyone else hate pull ups …but make themselves do it anyways?!? 😅 it’s been a goal of mine for a couple years and I keep putting it off. There’s no better time than the present. Right?! 🤣
