15 years ago today my life changed forever. I heard the words “you have cancer”. At the age of 6 I didn’t really understand what this meant. This shattered my whole families world. Not only was I diagnosed with Leukemia, I was diagnosed with the first type of Leukemia they had ever seen at Nationwide Children’s in Columbus. I underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. This has brought me a lot of tears, laughter, pain, and surgery. Also some of the best Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Doctors and the most important my amazing bone marrow donor Sarah, who I would not be here without today. Dealing with this at such a young age has taught me to never ever take life for granted and to always be thankful for life.

September is Childhood Cancer awareness month, please consider going gold for children like myself who have survived and the ones who are now angels in the sky. Childhood cancer deserves more than 4% of funding! 🎗️💛

Please always remember to hug your families extra tight and to always tell them you love them because, tomorrow is never guaranteed. ❤️ by @kinley.strohl
