Most of you already know who I am, but I wanted to share a little bit of my story and what the past few months have been like for me. I’m not posting this so people will feel sorry for me. I’m sharing it because I hope it raises awareness and maybe helps someone who needs it.
For those of you who don’t know, I lost my dad to suicide on December 16, 2025. This is something I never thought would happen to my family. My dad had just gotten remarried, bought a new house, and was healthy. From the outside, everything looked normal, but no one knew how much he was struggling with his mental health.
After everything happened, I kept blaming myself. I would ask myself, “Why?” or “What if I had done something differently?” But I’ve learned that those questions don’t change what happened. They only make it harder to heal.
Even though losing my dad has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, it’s also brought me closer to God. I have peace knowing that one day I’ll get to see my dad again in heaven.

My dad was the best dad anyone could ask for. He never missed one of mine or my siblings games or school events. He was so goofy and always knew how to make people laugh. He loved Jesus, going to Goodwill, spending time with family, volunteering, and love our dog charlie. If you knew my dad, you know how special he really was.
If you take anything away from this, I hope it’s that you know that you are never alone! Jesus is always with you, even when life feels impossible, and if you’re ever feeling hopeless or like you can’t do it anymore, please tell someone, ask sk for help. There are people who love you, care about you, and want you here. It’s okay to not be okay.
I’m still learning how to live without my dad, and I know my grief journey isn’t over. Some days are a lot harder than others. But if sharing my story helps even one person, then it’s worth it.
