Most weekends, Kipper’s daughter knows dad has to leave for work.

She doesn’t usually get to see where he’s going or what he’s doing once he gets there.

So having her stop by while he was spinning Yacht Rock for the Grove Park Neighborhood block party in North Asheville was a special little moment.

A pretty sweet little crossover between dad life and DJ life.

Today we’re celebrating Kipper’s birthday!

What a guy to have on your team and in your corner.

For more than 10 years, he’s been a huge part of Remix Weddings, bringing care, enthusiasm, and a real sense of responsibility to the couples he works with. He wants your wedding to be incredible, the party to go bananas, and the whole experience to feel like you’ve got someone steady, thoughtful, and fully invested in you.

He’s detail-oriented, deeply committed to getting it right, and just a genuinely nice person to be around.

And as a pretty perfect reminder that all of that is still very much true, one of his couples from this past weekend sent in a 5-star review today. Honestly, that’s about as good a birthday present as it gets.

Some weddings leave a lasting impression. This one handed us the shades to prove it.

After a full year of working with Chase & Alexis to plan the perfect party, the energy on that dance floor was everything. Somewhere in the middle of it all, Alexis popped up at the booth wearing sunglasses that said We ❤️ Kipper. Her bestie? Rocking a pair that read DJ Kipper.

You don’t pull that kind of move unless the DJ delivers.

We’re honored. We’re grateful. And we’re still smiling about it.

Sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones we fight to bring to life.

After Hurricane Helene forced them to postpone their September wedding, Jansen & Travis had every reason to move on — they were already married, after all.

But they didn’t.

They chose to return to Asheville.

They brought their family, their friends — and their entire original vendor team — back together to help finish what they had started.

For all of us involved, it was a chance to help right one small thing the storm had taken.

And this last dance? It wasn’t just a closing moment. It was a homecoming — one filled with gratitude, joy, and a deep sense of healing.

We’re so thankful to have been part of it.

It’s nearly impossible to put into words the void that Daniel has left in his passing.

All I can think about are the words he said to me nearly two decades ago—words that have stuck with me as a near-mantra in my life:

“Maybe you should stop trying to make it what you want it to be and enjoy what it is.”

I think he was 16, maybe 17 at the time, but those words kicked my ass. I’ve carried them with me ever since, and I’d like to think I’ve been a better person because of them.

Those of us who knew and loved Daniel had the rare privilege of being bettered by his presence in our lives. Although I loved and adored him, I envy those who had the honor of being even closer to him—what a shining light to orbit.

Though he’s no longer with us in this physical world, I know I’ll always expect him to walk into a room with that laugh, that swagger, and that undeniable ability to make any occasion one to remember. by @kipperisrad

It’s Kipper back with Bizzy in the Remix Weddings home studio, spinning a full blend of Robyn’s ‘Dancing on my Own’ with Chappell Roan’s ‘Hot To Go.’

This mashup was inspired by an incredible DJ I saw on Instagram, but I can’t find the post or remember the name to give proper credit. If anyone knows the original DJ who inspired this, please tag them in the comments! They’re the same DJ who did the Mandolorian mashup, and I think one with the Lord of the Rings as well! They’re incredible, and I really do want to give them the praise they deserve!

Mentioning praise, can we celebrate both Robyn and Chappell Roan as the dance floor anthem goddesses they are and appreciate how crazy it is that they have two songs that work together so seamlessly?
