✨ “…I ran for it. I relaxed in it. I stood willingly and gladly in the characters of everything — other people, trees, clouds.

And this is what I learned: that the world’s otherness is antidote to confusion, that standing within this otherness — the beauty and the mystery of the world — can re-dignify the worst-stung heart.”✨

Being constrained by notions of a lost future, what could have been, and an inability to evolve in the present. We have access to a near infinite amount of ideas, content, and digital culture. In an era driven by consumption, it's important to consider the multitude of consequences and what we lose to gain by this. I think a lot of people can relate in battling nihilism, feeling stifled, and being tired; Aware of their potential, but struggling to actualize it and apply one's self. The barrage of re-emerging trends, cash cow sequels, and lack of new ideas is draining. Not to mention, all the waste we're leaving behind.

In 2025, the USA generated over 7 million metric tonnes of electronic waste. For comparison, 666 Ambassador Bridges is equal to this, or 1.16 million school buses.

Special thank you to this brilliant team, who I couldn't have brought this idea to life without:
- Photographer: @erinimages
- Wardrobe designer & stylist: @kirandurae
- Makeup Artist/PA: @mindgardenmakeup
- Models: @voellocity & yours truly

When this concept came to mind, I knew @erinimages would be the perfect artist to bring this dark, y2k futurism vision to life with. Erin brought in @kirandurae as our stylist, and that's when the vision truly began to materialize. In less than two weeks, Kiran designed these magnificent macramé pieces and wardrobe concepts. Finally, Brooke @voellocity introduced Paige @mindgardenmakeup to this project and the pristine hair & makeup looks tied EVERYTHING together. Brooke is a very talented model and fluidly moved and posed in a way that made it easy for Erin to get the pictures she needed with our limited studio timeframe.

All electronic cables and components were responsibly sourced from a local electronics recycling center & personal collections, where they were re-donated at the end of the project. Special thanks to that wonderful organization!

“listen,” says ambition, nervously shifting her weight from one boot to another - “why don’t you get going?”

the closing of this show marks the closing of another chapter. “Mrs Packard” highlights the insanity of a woman with her own opinions, and who amongst us hasn’t been feeling a little crazy lately.

Smaller cast shows are always my favourite, because I get more time to work individually with each actor to help them create their characters. With the subject matter; the staged violence; and the language, this show needed a lot of special attention.

Thank you @sngrlittle for picking yet another gorgeous feminist piece - you excel at finding stories that need to be told. And thank you for trusting me to come in and help tell stories with you for the last five years. As always, I am immensely proud of the work these students have done, for many of them this was their first show of this calibre 🥲 the only difference this time is - I don’t know what comes next for moi!

Stay tuned! ✨ by @kirandurae
