Way back Wednesday. This pic popped up on timeline. 15 years ago tonight I surprised 😱 @doverby4usm with tickets to see Duran Duran in Baton Rouge. My first time ever in BR. And, just a few months later I get the offer to move here and make home. Get up and praise the Lord! Today we finished up a great series called ‘Rooftops’. It was on our roof and our home and showing hospitality today. We have a free garage sale coming up in a few weeks here at Church and I had 2 big garbage bags filled with clothes. Dianne asked what’s that for? I told her and she added another bag. I know will get some good use. Great verse to remember and go by is Romans 12V13 “When Gods people are in need, be ready to help them. This is the first year in probably 20 years that I didn’t get season tickets, so honestly, I haven’t been nearly as excited about football season starting up.

Spirit → Words → Atmosphere

This morning at church, our Rooftops series was all about the atmosphere we create in our homes.

Pastor shared something that really stuck with me: the spirit starts with me, my words help create the atmosphere, and that atmosphere impacts everyone around me.

It made me think beyond just home life. The same is true at work.

If I bring a good spirit, speak encouragement, show gratitude and choose my words wisely, I can help create an atmosphere where people want to be-not just at home, but with customers, coworkers and everyone I encounter.

I can’t always control what’s happening around me, but I can control what I bring into the room.

So today’s reminder for me is simple:

Check my spirit.
Choose my words.
Create a better atmosphere.

Last 48 hours have been pretty funny. 😂

A lady in Flowood told me I have “19-year-old legs.” Then tonight at the gym, a younger guy brought his dad over and said, “Man, my dad’s over here drooling looking at your legs while you’re squatting.” 🤣

I’ll take that as a compliment!

The reality is, it isn’t about genetics or luck. It’s years of showing up, putting in the work, and staying consistent—even on the days I didn’t feel like it.
