i have spent 23 years of my life in this beautiful desert and it absolutely breaks my heart to see the direction of where this valley is headed. the future is near. not only does my heart hurt for the people that have lived and curated their lives here, but it hurts for all of our beautiful native animals and flora that already struggle with having a place called home. all our local government has done is build and build and build. pushing the coyotes out to the point where they roam the outskirts (that are now neighborhoods) in order to find food. and we're wary of them somehow? they got rid of established trees to make space for the once a year event of F1 racing. the increasing usage of AI in general is disheartening and unfortunate; we are now due for 86 acres of land near Boulder City to be dedicated to AI centers. it's hard to imagine Las Vegas not being my home, at least just yet. i just wanted to speak a little from the truest parts of my heart as someone that cares for our environment deeply. it makes me sad. i want to breathe in as much as this air as i can and breathe it out. i am so Grateful to be able to do so and i'm cherishing the moments i do get to have in our beautiful valley. fuck AI. taken in Mount Charleston, Nevada by @kirl1a11
