I said we would take turns so, here are things I enjoyed this week:

1) Ladybug, garlic
2) Al Kuffa tomato from @iraqiseedcollective @aliruxin & self-sowed nicotiana
3) Cricket(?) on mallow, my reminder that planet wants to feed us but people still starve other people, fuck that.
4) Dae Jang Geum! I think it’s good luck to plant in the rain
5) Our mentor Brenda Miller says to always choose the option with the “smallest footprint, the greatest biodiversity” which, sadly, I guess is tilling while screaming “run” at voles and insects. Right is just tilled, left is tarped and tilled.

*tears of joy and exhaustion*

Just completed our first market harvest day in preparation for tomorrows debut at @rockhillfarmersmarket

As beginning farm owners, it’s been a wild ride since March and there were definitely days when we didn’t think we’d be at any markets this year. But here we are with a gorgeous spring bounty that includes mizuna two ways, two kinds of bok choy, Chinese spinach, arugula, romaine, radishes, garlic scapes, herbs, pea shoots, edible flowers and more! Whew!

So grateful to @ccesullivan @reconsiderorg @rondout_valley_growers @grownyc and many more mentors, service providers and the previous stewards of our land, for supporting us in this journey. We hope to feed you soon!
