We joked about how long this reel was going to take because I’m old and don’t know how to use technology… and then the music didn’t work and it was over 4 min long, so I had to delete and redo the whole thing! Total time probably 3 hours to complete!!

Nine years vegan, and it hasn’t been easy.
It’s not trendy. It’s not simple. It’s not light.
It’s heavy. It’s emotional. It’s heartbreaking.
Every single day, I live with the reality of what animals go through, knowing I can’t save them all, knowing suffering still happens even when I choose differently. That weight doesn’t go away. It lives in your mind. In your heart. In your choices. EVERY DAY!

Being vegan isn’t just a diet. It’s a constant reminder. It’s grief. It’s compassion. It’s choosing to care even when it hurts. But there is always a kinder choice.

There are alternatives.
Alternatives to leather and suede.
Alternatives to milk and meat.
Alternatives to cruelty.
We don’t need to harm to live.
We don’t need to exploit to thrive.

Change matters for the world, for the animals, and for ourselves. Being vegan can be lonely. It can feel isolating when you’re the only one in the room making these choices when you’re the only one who sees it, feels it, carries it. Some days it’s exhausting. Some days it’s overwhelming. Some days it’s deeply sad. I cry all the time.

But I know it’s right.
I know it’s compassionate.
I know it’s kind.
And I know it matters.
So I choose it anyway.
Every day.
For them.
For the world.
For who I want to be.
And because compassion should always be the default.

To most people, getting a school ID might not seem like a big deal, but for me, it means everything. Growing up, college never felt like it was in the cards. Life happened, responsibilities came first, and I went straight into working full-time. I worked two jobs just to get by.

Now I’m about to get my degree online at almost 40. Getting my student ID in the mail was such an awesome moment and a real reminder that dreams are possible. I’m so thankful to my husband for making this happen. Thanks for believing in me. @dannytattooer by @kissyalee
