SURPRISE! Cherry Picking: a pro hockey hockey player x gravedigger romance is OUT NOW!

available in paperback, ebook, and free to read on Kindle Unlimited 🏒🪏🍒

as it turns out, you can take the girl out of sports romance (for a whole year!!) but you can’t take the sports romance out of the girl…

for years I’ve been polling you all. what‘s your favorite sport I’ve written so far? what sport do you want me to write next? how would you feel if I wrote PRO sports?

you all said PRO HOCKEY PLEASE but with your own special gothic twist… (okay I added the last part)

and because I’m nothing if not desperate for your approval (aka willing to serve you what you’re hungry for), I decided to fulfill your wishes on a whim.

while I don’t claim to be an expert on the sport of hockey or gravedigging or funerals, this was some of the most fun I’ve had writing in a long, long time and I did my level best to make it accurate. made only better by this being a super special secret surprise drop!!!

I hope you have just as much fun reading (and crying, I guess, if you’re into that) as I did writing.

god speed.

IN THE GARDEN OF BONES
April 6, 2027 from @readrequited @arcadia_books

🦴✧₊⁺🕯⋆.˚୨ৎ

Danger lurks beyond the ivy in this lush dark academia romance perfect for fans of Olivie Blake and Elise Kova.

Bound by tradition. Consumed by love.

Thirteen years after her mother’s suspicious death within the walls of the Eleusinia Institute, Cora Reed steps back through its iron gates with one goal: uncover the truth.

By day, Cora throws herself into her alchemy studies; by night, she searches for clues to her mother’s fate. The only distraction she can’t escape is Adrian Byrne—brilliant, arrogant, and devilishly handsome, he’s college royalty with an unsettling knowledge of what lurks beneath Eleusinia’s polished facade. But when her investigation uncovers a dangerous power festering at the heart of the school, she has no choice but to turn to him for help. What begins as a reluctant alliance soon ignites into a passion neither of them can control.

But Eleusinia feeds on sacrifice, and in a place where ambition outlives mercy, even love can become a casualty.

Steeped in lush prose and restless yearning, In the Garden of Bones is a dark and magical gothic romance about love, legacy, and the terrible cost of uncovering what should have stayed buried.

And though I burn, how could I fall
When I am lifted by every word you say to me?
If anything could fall at all, it’s the world
That falls away from me

incredible news for everyone everywhere—all SEVEN books in the coastal university + coastal rivals series are officially coming to audio next year ✧

I’ve had a few opportunities to pub audio, but nothing that ever felt right… until now. my incredible agent @alyssaelizabeth47 worked her magic, and AUDIBLE will be publishing the full lineup in 2026.

they’ll also be re-recording spring tide with all-new narrators so the entire universe feels cohesive and fresh. I can finally say this is the audio home i’ve been hoping for.

thank you to every reader who’s ever asked for audiobooks, waited patiently, or sent me a message about wanting them. it means more than you know. and thank you to @thebookvoyagers for the gorgeous graphics ✧

if you love these stories, get ready to meet them all over again. this time in your headphones.

Briggs Maxwell is the hockey player teams like to put in front of a camera. He’s fast, he’s easy to like, and he makes a struggling franchise look better than it is. But it’s a contract year, the Charlotte Kings are on the wrong side of the playoff line, and he’s starting to suspect he’ll spend a whole career being useful without ever being necessary.

Then his little brother dies, and Briggs flies home to Vegas to bury a man he hadn’t spoken to in two years.
Evie Sutton has buried half her town and most of her feelings. She’s a fine arts graduate who digs graves for her father’s funeral home, and she knows how to handle grief like she handles a supply order—practically, and without flinching.

What she doesn’t know how to handle is a famous hockey player who’s just turned up at her funeral home.
When Briggs has to leave his stroke-recovering father behind for the rest of the season, it’s Evie who agrees to help them out. It’s supposed to be a simple arrangement. Five months, a paycheck, and two thousand miles of distance to keep it from becoming anything else.

But Briggs has spent his whole life leaving before anyone can ask him to stay, and Evie has never once asked anybody for anything. Which is fine, right up until it isn’t.

A romance about the people we lose, the people we hold onto, and the terrifying business of being worth the trouble. by @kistephs
