Semester 3!!! I basically lived at Evans and St. Mary's but I'm so glad I had the best company :)

Thank you John 15 for some wonderful friends and an amazing small group. Thank you Sarah for showing me what a true friend is and for being the best GL partner ever!! And finally, thank you Rafael for being my best friend and constant support ❤️

Back in January I wrote the prayer on the first slide. It was at a time where I felt very lost in my friendships and was yearning for stability. It was the beginning of the spring semester and I still felt like I hadn't made any friends. All around me it seemed like everyone had found their best friends while I just had acquaintances. I very vividly remember crying on the phone with my youth minister updating him on how college was going and telling him how alone I felt. (Shout out to Bennett for always being there for me). After that phone call, I wrote this prayer and hoped it would be answered. I starting using this journal to take notes from different talks I've heard, but never thought about this prayer again.

I feel like often times we pray for something and when it's not fixed immediately we become angry and upset with God. As someone feels like they always need to be in control, those feelings are very familiar to me. And that's how I felt in the following weeks after writing that prayer. I still felt alone and now hurt too.

Eventually I forgot about my prayer and feelings. I found people that became my actual friends instead of just acquaintances, and I did it all in my own. (spoiler alert! I did not do it on my own). I felt so truly happy to have strong, authentic friends that I know will push me to be a better person in all aspects of my life. Last week, I was reflecting on notes I had taken during a talk when I flipped to the front of my journal and saw my prayer again. After reading it and remembering what my life was like at that point, I realized just how much God had answered that prayer. When I wrote it, I didn't know anyone in these pictures much less how deep our friendships would become. In that moment I wrote another prayer, this time in thanksgiving for my answered prayer and the people it brought in my life.

This semester was rough but these people made it so much better. Year 1 is officially done, only 3 more to go! :)

Also now I can officially say I'm the loudest and the proudest member of the fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2025!!! A-A-A-A-A
