Bird pepper from yaad 🌶️🌿

Planted by the birds themselves!

Six little bushes popped up, covered in bright red peppers. We watched a family of ravens and a sparrow come through and eat them one by one. I saved what I could and pickled the harvest.

Tiny, hot, and potent — a country substitute for Scotch bonnet when none is around.

Now I’m excited to see what dish they’ll eventually land in. 🌶️ by @kitankin

Blending flavors from Jamaica and Trinidad, chef Anya gained national recognition as the winner of Chopped Season 61, Episode 10: “Sooner or Gator.” Join us on opening night and discover what Chef Anya especially prepared for Kréol Fest!

About Kréol Fest:
This festival is a celebration of Creole cultures through music, dance, visual arts, literature, fashion, and food during international Creole Heritage Month.
Born from a desire to educate and connect, it showcases the richness and diversity of Creole heritage on a global scale.
For its 3rd edition, the program will consist of an opening ceremony with a jam session, live performances, a market place, conferences, workshops and a closing dj set.
