![Inside WBH pt.1
Dank der Einladung von Mina zu einer exklusiven Preview des "2026 Sony World Photography Awards" (SWPA) konnte ich erstmals auch das Willy-Brandt-Haus (WBH) vom Foyer bis zur Dach-Terrasse erkunden und für dich festhalten. Der diesjährige SWPA wird am 8. Oktober um 19 uhr offiziell eröffnet. Die Ausstellung kann vom 9. Oktober bis zum 7. Februar 2027 besucht werden. Besucher:innen können drei hochwertige Preise (Kamera, Kopfhörer) von Sony gewinnen, wenn sie etwas von der Ausstellung online posten und teilnehmen.

Der Namesgeber Willy Brandt (1913-1992) war von 1955 bis 1966 Regierender Bürgermeister von West-Berlin. Sein Sohn, der Autor und Schauspieler Matthias Brandt hat heute Geburtstag!

[Trivia]
Das Carillon in Berlin ist ein von Hand spielbares Glockenspiel. Um 12uhr und um 18uhr spielt eine Automatik. Um 12 Uhr erklingt entweder die ukrainische Nationalhymne "Noch ist die Ukraine nicht verloren" oder das ukrainische Kampflied "O roter Schneeball".
Der Turm besteht aus vier zum Karree gruppierten Einzeltürmen, welche mit schwarzem Granit verkleidet sind. Auf dem Turm befindet sich ein Flugdach in Form einer flachen quadratischen Schale. 187 Stufen einer Wendeltreppe führen im Inneren zur Spielerkabine in 33 Meter Höhe. Mit 68 Kirchenglocken und einem Tonumfang von fünfeinhalb Oktaven ist es eines der größten Carillons Europas. Die Glocken wiegen insgesamt 48 Tonnen, die größte 7,8 Tonnen, die kleinste acht Kilogramm; die zehn schwersten Glocken sind unterhalb, die restlichen 58 Glocken oberhalb der Spielkabine angebracht. Das Berliner Rathaus ist der Amtssitz des Regierenden Bürgermeisters und verdankt seinen Namen der rote Ziegelfassade: Rotes Rathaus. 80.000 Besucher zählt es anlässlich von Ausstellungen und Festakten jährlich.
Während das eigentliche Gebäude 27m hoch ist, überragt der der Turm mit 94m deutlich. Im oberen Ende des Turms befindet sich eine Uhr mit vier Zifferblätten zu jeder Seite. Ein jedes Zifferblatt hat eine Durchmesser von fünf Metern und ist somit trotz der beachtlichen Höhe für alle leicht ablesbar.
Über den Haupteingang gelangt man in das Foyer und erhält direkt einen Blick auf die beeindruckende Vorhalle. Zentral befindet sich auch die 39 Stufen (schwarzer Syenit) umfassende Haupttreppe führt vom Foyer in die erste Etage. Dort befindet sich die Vorhalle und man gelangt u.a. zu sechs besonders gestalteten Sälen, welche zu verschiedenen Anlässen genutzt werden.

This time thanks to exploreBerlinwithus I got the chance to visit the "Ikono Berlin" exclusivly beside opening hours in the early morning. It was my very first visit to this place and I was really excited to discover and explore it. My expectations were exceeded! True story.

[Trivia]
The "IKONO Berlin" is an immersive playground right beside Germanys highest building @berliner_fernsehturm and it includes 14 rooms of different styles and shape. Here you have fun and live out your creativity and imagination.
I really loved Yokocho (picture 3) which is a Japan inspired alleyway including traditional lanterns. But there is also a fully mirrored room including 99 floating silver balloons! Note: the balloons still have feelings - please be gentle with them. It seems to me that the huge pool filled with countles balls called "dream drive" every body had the most joy (picture 1, 2). You can feel literatly like Scrooge McDuck and deep dive while beautiful color lightning make this unique. The cubes room was another highlight for me. I loved it and stayed for a while, turns out here color has a major role. See for yourself and compare picture 4 and the last slide.
A bitter pill at least, what I was looking forward to most in advance: the "landtern sanctuary" was unfortunately under construction on this day. Looking forward to enjoy it next time for sure.

Download ![[The Zeiss Großplanetarium Part 1]👩🚀🌍
Last night a group of more than 60 photographers could visit the famous planetarium exclusivly thanks to Meike and Mina.

Europes most modern science theatre is Berlin Zeiss Grand planetarium (Zeiss-Großplanetarium). On the occasion of Berlin's 750th anniversary in 1987 it was erected as one of the last representative buildings of the former GDR (DDR). The huge dome includes a large planetarium hall with 307 visitor seats and its diameter are 30 metres.
Here you can enjoy the planetarium centerpiece star projector Typ ZEISS UNIVERSARIUM Modell IX (picture 5). It was specially modified for this house and it can show the nighttime starry sky at any time and place you want to. As you know light pollution is sadly massive in a big city like Berlin. The star projector is further complemented by a multi-channel digital projection system featuring ten ZEISS VELVET video projectors for 360° fulldome projection. This makes it possible to not only view the stars from Earth perspective but also to travel through our solar system and beyond the universe in three dimensions. The immersive experience is completed
with the spatial sound system. 49 speakers and 4 subwoofers build a formidable 3D sound.
The admission free innovative permanent exhibition "The Universe You Can Touch" is so much fun! Last but not least: an additional cinema, a restaurant "Cosmo Kitchen" and a souvenir Shop. Stay tuned for more and feel free to follow me.

Wie gewohnt ist jeder 50. Beitrag ein Besonderer. Heute zeige ich euch ein paar Eindrücke von einem Jubilar: der Berliner Funkturm feiert in diesem Jahr seinen 100. Geburtstag! 🥳
.
[Trivia]
1926 und damit 43 Jahre vor dem @berliner_fernsehturm wurde auf dem Messegelände an Stelle eines einfachen Sendemastens ein Stahlwerkfachturm errichtet: der Berliner Funkturm. Kostendruck und die Betriebssicherheit als Maßgabe führten zum vollständig Verzicht auf gestalterische Elemente wie sie der Pariser Eiffelturm besitzt.
Auf 50m Höhe befindet sich ein Restaurant in dem seit jeher Prominenz und Politik sich gern getroffen hat (Bilder folgen ein anderes Mal). In der Turmspitze befindet sich auf 126m Höhe eine Aussichtsplattform (siehe Bild 3 und 6), von wo man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf das Messegelände inklusive dem ICC, rüber zum @teufelsberg.official aber auch auf nahezu ganz Berlin bekommt. Der denkmalgeschützte Turm (seit 1966) ist selbstverständlich mit einem Aufzug ausgestattet - ich habe es mit aber nicht nehmen lassen auf dem Weg nach unten nach dem Restaurant die Treppen (siehe Bild 2, 5, 7) zu nehmen. Dadurch hatte ich eine beeindruckenden Blick auf die Turmkonstruktion.
Unter dem Motto "What the Funk" feiert die Messe Berlin dieses Jahr mit zahlreichen Veranstaltungen das 100jährige Bestehen des Berliner Wahrzeichens. Auch bei diesjährigen @berlinfestivaloflights wird der Funkturm wieder teilnehmen

Diese Brücke ist ein absoluter Hingucker und wenn man den Landschaftspark in Britz, Neukölln besucht, muss man unbedingt dort vorbei schauen. Die Holzbrücke wird von drei-füßigen Pylonen getragen, welche in einer Pyramidenspitze zusammentreffen. Ein echter Hingucker und sie bietet auch einen wunderbaren Blick über den großen See.
Der Birtzer Garten ist eine Erweiterung der Bundesgartenschau aus dem Jahr 1985.
