A trip to the Cowichan Valley was on my fall bucket list but I sneaked it in on the last weekend of summer, and what a glorious, warm, sunshiny camping trip it was. Cowichan actually means Warmland, and it was definitely still warm enough to swim in the lakes and rivers that abound in this area. We will definitely be back to do that 7km river hike when the salmon are running, and to check out the many cideries, wineries and markets I’ve heard so much about. I fell in love with the place. by @kitsjulia

What a joy to put on 9 days of Auntie Camp for these cool kids. Getting to be an Auntie is where it’s at 💗 Every morning the days itinerary was posted on the fridge, everything from hiking, blackberry picking, farmers markets, going to fun spots for ice cream, loads of Ocean time🌊, swimming suping and kayaking, late night meteor shower gazing ⭐️ , camping 🏕️, the magical bioluminescence✨, aquarium visit 🐠, movie nights, sunset paddles, and loads of delicious treats for my sweethearts. We had such a blast, and it was even better when Uncle Mike could join in on the fun. #auntielifeisthebestlife by @kitsjulia

Auntie and Uncle have very full hearts after having our boys Atsu, Kazu and Kio on the Island for the long weekend. They are growing up and the conversations run a little deeper, but they are still just big kids at heart, and I hope they hold onto that forever. Love them with all that I am ❤️ by @kitsjulia

May and June, wow, we were blessed with two extra months of summer this year ☀️ Lots of sea, sun, gulf islands, forests, friends, family, and even a little jaunt home to see what all the World Cup fuss was about. by @kitsjulia

A Euro summer kind of Sunday, no passport required. We’ll be here doing this on repeat all summer, so put on your swimsuit and come soak up the vibes ☀️🌊🌼🦀 by @kitsjulia

March and April the sun comes out and we blossom like flowers. Spring is my absolute favourite time of year. It feels like we’ve already had a month of summer! Delighted to be home (Vancouver) to see the first and the last of the blossoms, a dreamy little getaway on Pender Island, Mom and Dad and some great friends came to visit us on Vancouver Island. We ferried over our trailer for Island adventures to come. Watching nature awake from its long winters nap is the sweet nectar from the Gods that fills my cup✨ by @kitsjulia

Jan/Feb. I do so love those in between dark months, after a busy Christmas and before a full Spring to just take it easy, go with the flow, embrace the weather, cook up comfort food, tuck into my crafts, hang with cozy people, seek out the sun when it shines, tackle home improvements, enjoy our local attractions, get outside, light those candles and cozy up to the fire. Getting to live between two amazing places sure makes the time just tick right along, before we know it Spring is here! That false Spring was something, good for the soul, bad for the skiing, so I just visited flower stands instead. Like I said, go with the flow, I’m allllll about it✨ by @kitsjulia

Oh what to say about 2025? I knew it would be a year of unknowns, where will we live, how long will we be there, can we even plan any holidays or adventures?? Too many questions that there were no answers for, so I gave it up to the Universe to sort out, I went with the flow, living in gratitude for the everyday with an open heart. As fate would have it, the tree of life dropped some pretty amazing fruit! 2026 will be much of the same, lots of unknowns (all of it due to Mikes current project and scheduling) but I’m thrilled to be here, wherever that is, making the most of everyday, grateful for all the blessing and moments of joy. by @kitsjulia

My love for November has really grown over the years. I do love the earlier sunsets and the later sunrises as I’m awake for both. Everything starts to slow down, falling leaves, rainy days, out comes the soup pot, longer reading sessions, moody music, crochet projects, candlelight, and Christmas dreamin.
