Penny is turning 5 years old in October, Remy is about 8 months now. Still a pup and still learning.

Happy anniversary to my wonderful husband. One year married, eight years together. ❤️

I still remember the serendipitous way we met. A random party where neither of us drank at the time. Your foot-high mohawk and sweet smile made you clearly stand out in the crowd. You left early because you had worked that day and needed to take Shea 🐕 for a walk. I thought I would never see you again.

The next morning, while waiting for my bus to work, I saw the unmistakable mohawk. It turns out you only lived 4 houses away from me. I didn't want to miss this second opportunity, so I put my number in your phone.

You left food on my front steps when I got home late from work, you started to stay up to walk me from the Skytrain. We started to hang out, and the rest is history.

I love you more than you'll ever know. You are the sweetest, most considerate man I've ever met. You've been there beside me through thick and thin. You are truly a special human, and I still can't believe I get to call you my hubby. ❤️

Late posting! Long weekend photo dump!
Dad and bro were in town. Went to Mount Seymour for a mini hike, over to Deep Cove for lunch.
Our next adventure was out to Squamish to visit the new Squamish Canyon walkway. Beautiful day and walk through the forest.

2016: The year of strength, empowerment, and new beginnings.

At this time I was in a severely abusive relationship. You cannot tell from the photos, I put my fake smile on and went about my days. I was gaslit, torn down to believe I'm nothing, trying to avoid home at all costs. While working 60 hour work weeks and 20 hours weekends, acting as a court ordered supervisor to my abuser, while he spent time with his daughter. I loved her with all my heart. That's the only thing I miss.

What made me happy was colouring my hair, spending any time away from home.

I was spent. The last straw was broken. I faced my greatest fears among all threats. I asked for help from friends and acquaintances. They were all more than willing to do so. For that I eternally greatful. I packed my knapsack, my passport, a copy of the lease, and all the pictures I had of my abuser and things that were done and said to me in photos on my phone, and my laptop. The only thing I feared for was leaving my cats temporarily, hoping he did not hurt them or give them away. They were my safe space.

I am greatful for my family, friends, and my own courage and strength to leave.

It was not an easy year. It was a year I found new beginnings when I thought I would be in a dark hole forever.

Greatful beyond words goes out to those I tagged and to those I couldn't find Mel, Cody and Dexter.

LAVA!! 🌋 It erupted!!
What an experience to be on the island when the volcano erupted! We visited the first day we were there. Viewing Kilauea Crater and the steam vents. It erupted the day before we left. The online steam was amazing to watch. We were in a safe area! But wow! 🌋🌋🌋
