POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I received ARC of No Bones About it by Cassandra Elizzabeth for an honest review.

No Bones about it is a sentient object Halloween romance novella, where a recently divorced woman Tori decides to finally buy a 12t tall skeleton decoration she has always wanted but was never allowed to get by her ex-husband. As she sets the skeleton up to her yard and names him Mr. Bonejangles, right away one of her neighbours is against it and starts to try to get HOA to make a rule to get it removed. Tori decides to make a post about it online, wanting to get support so she could keep him and her post ends up going viral. Next day she starts getting visitors from people who want to support her, and they also want to get their photos taken together with Mr. Bonejangles. She starts to feel attracted to him and by some miracle she realises it isn’t just one sided.

I found myself glued to the pages from the very beginning as the story was so well written that it made me fall in love with Tori and Mr. Bonejangles, making me root for two of them and wanting to keep reading what else was going to happen next.

I think this book deserves 5 out of 5 stars. It is a perfect short story for all those who love the Halloween season and enjoy their cozy romance, but also want to read about love that breaks the normal boundaries.

I received ARC of A.I. Human by M.K. Stephenson for an honest review.

A.I. Human is a steamy why choose scifi romance and it is part of Lietvia Galaxy series of interconnected standalones.

The story follows Lyssa, a human woman who has been abducted from earth by alien traffickers. She has been imprisoned in a cage for weeks at the store that sells all kinds of beings as sextoys. Lyssa ends up being bought by Gildnarian, a tan reptilian alien Terrald, who can’t hear or speak. Her seller lies to him that she is just an android, so he buys her to be a pleasure toy for him and his two mates Kahnnan and Garreth. She is too afraid to reveal that she isn’t really an android, so she does what they want sexually, until one of them realizes that she isn’t one, but an actual living being.

The plot was original, and kept me glued to the pages from the very beginning. I thought most of the story would be just smut with just a small amount of actual plot, but I was completely proven wrong! The story had a lot of thought introducing moments, and the whole world was really well built. The steamy scenes between all of them were scorching hot, I loved the scenes where all of them were together.

Lyssa as a FMC was written in a way that it came easy for me to think of myself in her place, which I usually always like to do to get inside of the story better.

Each of the MMCs were well written. Gareth had energy that reminded me of a golden retriever, Kahnnan was a grumpy alpha and Terrald was a perfect combination of both of them and the sound of reasoning. The existing relationship between the three of them was nice to read and experience, it made me smile almost all the time as I read about them.

I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I think this book is perfect to love monster and alien romance stories.

I received ARC of Selkies and Spellcraft by Aly Hollis for an honest review.

Selkies and Spellcraft is a sweet and spicy paranormal romance novella, containing an older woman, who is a witch and is rediscovering herself and her powers after her recent divorce and a younger selkie-man who is sweet on her, with a lot of flirting between them.

The story follows Juniper, a recently divorced water witch, who returns to her family reunion. While returning from spending an evening of drinking with her friend, she finds a beautiful furcoat at the beach and takes it with her, wanting to find the owner of it, to return it. Next morning a gorgeous younger man, Caspian appears on her doorsteps, explaining to her that he is the owner of the coat and a selkie, and as she found his coat it meant that they are now basically married.

Juniper as a FMC is closed off and stubborn, but the more she spends time with Caspian, the more we see her opening up and regaining what she has lost while before her divorce. I liked the fact that she was already quite older than usual FMCs from books like this are.

Our MMC Caspian was such a greenflag, wanting to make Juniper accept him, while also helping her to rediscover herself. I enjoyed how he didn’t give up on her, no matter how grumpy she was towards him.

The actual plot in this book was addicting to me and even though it was mostly lighthearted, there were still some really intense moments too.

There were only a couple things in the plot that I personally wanted that would have been explored more, one of them being about the reactions of Juniper’s family about her powers and of Caspian’s claim on her.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book for those who enjoy their magical romance.

Boots, buckles and bad decisions by @christy_anderson_author

This one is short and sweet!

BOOTS ON ROMAN MOUNTAIN
She wanted a safe place to land. He wanted to give her so much more.

Kyla Webster
When my inherited truck, Large Marge, breaks down in the scenic valley cradled in the shadow of Roman Mountain, my daughter and I don’t have anyone to call for help.
As luck would have it, a rugged, handsome man rides to our rescue in a white pick-up truck, like a modern-day protective knight in shining armor.
Cohen Roman is unexpected. He’s the strong silent type and impossible to ignore. But the man works miracles with his hands and patches up my old ride and sends us on our way.
I thought that was the end of that, but fate—she had other plans.
I receive an offer too good to refuse, and that lands me right back on the horse farm at Roman Mountain. I only plan to stay long enough to get my feet under me so that I can find somewhere safe for me and my daughter to call home.
But then Cohen starts looking at me like I already belong here.

Cohen Roman
When a stranded woman with beautiful but guarded eyes and a little girl surrounded by their belongings are stranded on the side of the road at my farm, I do what needs to be done. I fix her truck and send her on her way, but I send her right into the arms of my meddling aunt, and they end up right back at my farm.
I work hard to earn their trust and make them smile, and I find that I enjoy every second I spend with them.
These east Tennessee mountains are starting to work their magic on them and me because now they’re under my skin, becoming a part of this family faster than any of us are ready for. And maybe, just maybe this is the place where they can plant their boots.
But when trouble from her past follows her to the farm, I make one thing perfectly clear:
Nobody touches what’s mine.
