Ever notice your cat turns into a puddle in summer? That extra sleepiness isn't laziness, it's active temperature control 🌡️

Cats run hotter than us and barely sweat, so they stay still to avoid overheating.

The catch: when they rest more, they drink less, and with their naturally weak thirst drive, mild dehydration can set in with no obvious signs

The fix isn't forcing her to drink more, it's removing the effort. Fresh, cool water within a few steps of where she rests changes everything.

Where does your cat ride out the heat? Tell us below 🐾 by @kittyspout

Happy International Cat Day🐾

Cats get called cold and independent, but the science says otherwise: your cat knows your face, your voice, and their own name, and forms a real bond with you. That slow blink is a genuine message.

They also notice what you can't.

A cat's smell is around 14x stronger than ours, so a stale bowl registers with them long before it does with you, the same instinct that makes moving water win over still.

That film in your cat's water bowl has a name: biofilm 🦠

It's the slime you feel when you rinse, and rinsing doesn't remove it. On plastic it's worse, tiny scratches let it cling and rebuild fast. And your cat smells it before you do, which can quietly put them off drinking.

The fix: non-porous stainless steel gives biofilm nowhere to grip, and flowing water stays fresh.

A cat that actually wants to drink.
