A half day stop over in Taipei to stretch the legs and explore. Another compressed stint at home with a cold 🤧, some farm, some ski and some Roy’s peaks for a few weeks and already back on a plane ✈️ to the next race 👀

Popped into @kinisi_running for a @merrellrunning @merrellnz fitting before heading away again.
.
It’s inspiring seeing people take an idea and not just give it a crack, but actually make it work.
.
Ian and Jane put themselves out there to create @kinisi_running , a real shop, with serious expertise and equipment to get you in the right shoes and gear. It’s also become a community base. A place to talk gear, races and adventures, grab a coffee and have a laugh.
.
Promotion sometimes gets the eye-roll, but without these guys the run community here wouldn’t be half what it is. That’s reason enough to swing by 🙌

I’m 5 races down, 6 months in, half way through the year. It is great to have consistency racing this season and make the most of what I’ve got. Still hungry. Still learning. Still know I can improve more. A long way to go, and so many crazy talented athletes yet to run their races and claim their points!
.
I find self promotion challenging and embarrassing but this is the game we are in. At this level to get the most out of ourselves and to be competitive we need support and to provide value and exposure to those that help us. The silver lining is I love to be creative, making reels, taking photos and using design to promote the brands that give me support. And no, the image above is not made by AI 😘 it’s still fun to design by hand 🖐️
.
It’s hard to stick your head up, especially as it’s more likely to be hit, but it’s also good to celebrate the small wins, I get plenty of mileage out of the losses! It’s also great to enjoy the process and the now, rather than the endless pursuit of what’s next.. 😜

I have been fortunate to have travelled to China a number of times, and it never fails to surprise! Enormous peaks, inquisitive and generous locals, unmistakeable single cylinder diesel Dong Fengs, prayer wheels, monks, monasteries and yak hotpot’s. This is a side of China that needs to be experienced to be believed. So sick 🤙🏽🙌🔥

Heading up the final climb to the high point 4700m+ with Yaba Genrang then battling all the way to the line, pipped by 13seconds to finish 6th. Couldn’t race with a nicer bloke 🙌
